Thursday Thoughts

It is cold today! When I checked the outside thermometer this morning it was -1*. This is the coldest it has been so far into this winter. Now snow wise we have had new record breaking amounts but we will see colder temps then this, hopefully not till February.

I went to the gym this morning and had other errands to do but I came right home. Sometimes it's just nice to be in where it's snug and warm.

I took some pictures of the darling little chickadees yesterday but they aren't very good at sitting still very long! If you look really close at the second picture you can see the wings fluttering. Hey, anyone out there know how to tell me how to be able to click on my pictures to enlarge them????

Bar-be-cue anyone????

The trees are still laden with snow from this last storm.

The snow is sure piled high on the bird feeder, looks like a hat!

Noodles knows what to do when it's cold outside..........

Remember making snow angels when you were a kid? Kids are still doing it today, some things just never go out of style! D was out behind Great Grampa's house making them the day we were sledding.

Great Grampa's house looks like a picture post card in the winter.

This is looking over at our barn from Great Grampa's house.

Just wanted to add a little color to this post!

The pot roast sure smells good, I hope it's cooked! Guess I'll be going out and buying a cast iron pot to cook in soon. Continued next time. Did we have pot roast or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner????? :o) Now is that a cliff hanger or what??????

Love the snow! The house was like a postcard, but the barn was my favorite! Winter finally has come here as well, no snow, but 20s and 30s. I had to break up water troughs this morning-it was frozen about 2 inches thick. Of course the farrier came this morning, but I broke out the insulated coveralls and the only thing cold was my face! I am sure I was a sight, but I was going for warmth not fashion. I am going to hope you all had Pot Roast for supper, I am not a fan of PB&J! Thanks for sharing!

Omigosh, you have a lot more snow than we have but isn't it just gorgeous?!! Such breathtaking scenery you have over there...I love it when the trees are snow laden like that. It went up to -2F here today...that was our HIGH! lol Fortunately it's supposed to actually turn quite mild (for us) in the next few days...I don't mind the cold weather but this is a bit TOO cold for me even, especially with the added windchill factor!

Aren't the chickadees such a joy to watch? I have them coming right up to my kitchen windowsill outside where I leave seeds. Sometimes they stand there looking inside, as if to say "what's going on in there"! lol

Anxious to hear how the pot roast turned out!! Stay warm my friend and here's to another wonderful year of friendship:-) xoxox

Oh my goodness, your kitty looks almost exactly like mine! That's funny... if someone were to walk by my computer & see those pics, they'd think it was my kitty!

Love the pics of the pretty snow too... esp. the one of the barn... what a beautiful winter wonderland!!!

It's really cold here too... the furnace keeps running & running... cha-ching, cha-ching goes the oil man... & the floor is still cold! Hope we all get those mild temps this week "pea"... my furnace needs a breather!

Stay warm everybody!!!

Lovely snow pictures - especially the red barn. Don't you just love breaking such records?? It's been cold here, and we have snow, but not like last year. I think I'm glad!

The kids went sledding for a few minutes with their dad and grandpa this afternoon - short, but sweet. Grandpa said they squealed like crazy - their first time.

The winter photos are absolutely fabulous! Are those with the new camera? My favorite would have to be Grandpa's house. I do hope that he gets to enjoy some of that pot roast as well.

We are preparing for our biggest storm since 2005, but it should consist of only heavy rain and wind. We do need it badly.

Stay toasty and keep the great photos coming.

I hope you had the pot roast for dinner as it just sounds warm and cozier! nothing like eating hot food on a cold day! And indeed it does look cold there! Which it is here too! I hate cold and it seems impossible to get warm! Ahh well looks like the kids love the snow anyway, and noodles is keeping cozy for sure! Ahh the life of a cat;) love your photos! I wish I could tell you how to click on the photos to blow them up, mine just do and I guess I am lucky that way...hmmmm

What beautiful pictures of the snow. We've had a terrible storm here and are bracing for "round two"
Just wanted to say hi and tell you how much your prayers and visits mean to me.

the photos are great. it looks so beautiful!

Noodles is one smart kitty.

your right, snow angels NEVER go out of style.

The weatherman in Oklahoma is calling for our first bout of severe thunderstorms.....I am confused. I thought it was winter not spring!
