Grandchildren Alert!

This house is pretty quiet when it's just Hubby and me kicking around. The Snowbirds are out in their apartment on the end of the house so we don't hear much out of them either. Now add two lively grand kids into the mix and it's a whole different story! What fun we are having!

Son and DIL are attending a business convention in Florida so T an D are staying with us. I had forgotten how much 'stuff' it takes to have little ones around! They came well packed with all of their clothes for school, playtime and of course plenty of soft jammies to sleep in. They love the fleece kind that Mimi and I make for them.

We hit the park yesterday after school along with K their cousin. It was really the first warm sunny day so the park was mobbed with little ankle biters running every which way. Before we got out of the car I said to them to stay where I could see them....yeah right.....they ran towards the playground with nary a thought of poor ole Grammie who was lugging all of her camera equipment in hopes of getting some good shots!

Hey! Wait a minute! Is that Patrick Dempsey on the swings???!! He IS from Maine you know so it could be...

Naw, guess it isn't. But it could be!

After dinner, baths, homework and story reading off to bed they went. T grinds her teeth and D talks in his sleep so it was an interesting night. They won't sleep in the guest rooms, they want to be in our room which is fine, I wouldn't want them to wake up scared. T hopped on the bus this morning after we did some swinging on the porch swing and then I took D to his preschool. They are going to the University Of Maine agricultural division today to see the newborn lambs! I should have sent my camera with them!!!

I get a lot of foolishness in forwards as you all probably do but this one cracked me up. It was NOT taken around here, although it wouldn't surprise me to see one at the state fair in the summertime. It's called a Redneck Tank Top and look closely and you can see what it is made out of.

My friend Ann and I went trail riding yesterday after giving the guys a good grooming. It was a glorious day with the sun shining and the temps in the 60's. That may not sound particularly warm to some of you but to us it is a heat wave! It seemed so nice to be out on Buddy and just walking along the river watching for bald eagles that frequent that area looking for fish to dive for. Just pure tranquility. We go again Saturday and Funsize will be able to go too as she won't be at work.

Speaking of work, I need to get going on a project I am working on. It's for two precious little girls and I am having fun doing girly stuff. I'm about 5 hours into it with probably 10 more to go so I guess I'd better call it quits for today on this computer and get to work! :o)

Isn't it great that spring has finally arrived? We're expecting rain tonight, but that's just part of the spring package.

It's so good you get to spend so much time with the grandkids and that you are full of youth to enjoy time with them. I am blessed my girls have three sets of grandparents to dote on them and boy do they - LOL!

That is so good you got to go out on Buddy. I'll be so glad when I get to get back on a horse!!

Have a great day! We are having a friend come out today and take some family photos for us.

It sounds like you are all having fun with the grands around. Now tell me....WHY would they wait for Grammie to catch up when all of the playground equipment was calling their names?????

I can't wait to see a photo of the project you are currently working on. Hope you can find the time with T&D there.

This week I have a high school friend staying with us while she is taking a fabric screen printing class at the local quilt studio. I haven't had much computer time because I am too busy gawking at her work she brings home each day.

We have the baby's christening Sat. so we are heading off in the a.m. for the weekend. Hope you have a wonderful birthday. Make sure everyone takes good care of you. (Like I know they will!!!!) Hugs.

It went up to 68F here today and like you, we consider that a heat wave for this time of year! lol I had all my windows and doors open and it felt simply wonderful to have all that fresh air coming through the house. Spring has finally SPRUNG!! Woohoo! And ahem, it couldn't have been Patrick Dempsey on the swings...he was here with me!!!! :-)~

It must be so magical to ride the trails on a beautiful warm and sunny day. When will you be getting your horses back to your own stables? Bet you're looking forward to that:-)

Now about that Redneck Tank Top...ROFL!!!! Omigosh, I laughed so much when I saw that, I had tears rolling down my face! lol

WE had two wonderfully warm days, then cold returned. But it's supposed to be warm again this week-end. We're taking the kiddoes to the zoo (yes, and the tiny twins!).

Love the pix of your grands - they're so cute. When ours sleep here, we have to toally restructure where we sleep - they won't do the nice guest room either.

LOVE the redneck tank top. Too funny!

Oh, wow...how fun to have your grandkids with you! But busy, I imagine! You sound like such a fun grandma, too! :)
Love all the park pictures...

Speaking of little ones, my baby is turning 6 in the morning. I can hardly believe it...(I posted pictures today of her through the years.) I am missing her babyhood...Good thing she still loves to cuddle a lot!

Hugs,
~Tammy

Oh man, I hope that redneck tank top picture was not taken in GA! It could have been, though. How shameful! Sometimes you just wonder what people are thinking. Your wall-hanging is too cute! I wish I had your sewing talent. I need to get my sewing machine out and figure out how to really use it. I have a pattern and material and everything...even those two sewing books I got for Christmas that I have not really used. What can I say, I am a slacker. Well, have a great weekend! Thanks for the comment the other day!
