My 250th Post!

This is my 250th post! Whew! Where has the time gone? When I started this a year or so ago I didn't think I would make it past 10 posts let alone this many! It has been fun meeting so many wonderful people from all over the US, Canada and beyond.

To celebrate as you can see I have had a new blog design made by NW Designs. I was itching for a different look as I like changes and Nap Warden did a great job for me! Take a look at her site and see what she does!

I also am going to have a 250th Post Give Away. Actually I am going to have two, one for horsey type people and one for you more sane people that aren't obsessed with the big 4 legged creatures! The first is a book, The Riders Handbook by Sally Gordon is just jammed full of information on all types of riding and horse care. It's an amazing book. I have to limit this to US and Canada but you don't have to have a blog to enter. Good luck!

The other is the Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Cooking From the Heart cookbook. Again this is an amazing cookbook with things that you don't have to cook just at Christmas time. I guarantee that you will find some new recipes that will become some of your families favorites! I am drooling on my keyboard as I type.....

To enter just leave a comment on this post and mention it in one of your posts with a link back to me so that your friends have a chance to enter. People don't blog as much on the weekends so I will leave it open until Wednesday of next week. Put on your comment whether you are a horsey person or a normal person and tell me one fun thing about yourself that I don't already know! :o) I will draw the names out of a hat on Wednesday noon EST.

We had the lunar eclipse a couple nights ago and I got a few pictures. It was very cold out so I didn't stand on the porch long. Wish I had gone out a few more times and taken more of the progression but Noodles was trying to get out the door every time I went out and we don't allow them out at night as it's so cold.

My sons cat, my grand cat, was missing for a day and a half so my son called to see if I had seen her. She comes over quite frequently, coming in via the kitty door but I had hadn't seen her for a day or two. I decided to take a look around just in case she had gotten in the barn but the door is open enough so that she can go in and out so I knew she wasn't there. I came back into the garage and could hear a faint meowing and sure enough she was locked in the third garage where we keep the pickup! We don't use that unless it's really storming out so she must have gotten in there when Hubby took the truck and hid in the attic! There are plenty of things up there for her to sleep on but no food or water so I'm glad we found her when we did!!! She ran for home, went in and got something to eat and then went back out again!

Here's another shot of my hungry deer. They love their grain and usually fight over it but were actually sharing last night!

Spellcheck is back! Woohoo!!!!!!!!! Do I hear a collective sigh of relief? I was ready to give my first born child to blogger to get my spell check back!!! Thankfully I didn't have to, he might not have appreciated it.....

Count me in for the cookbook! Fun giveaway, and great new design!

The new format is incredible. It looks so "wintery" with the iced branches going down the sides. You have done an awesome job.

Glad that the cat was released to go back home. It is a scary thought to imagine what could have happened to him.

We watched the eclipse but I didn't even think of taking a picture of it. :( Glad that you did!

Congrats on 250! I'm like you--I had no idea I would last this long! I love blogging. My time right now is limited some days, but I don't intend to give it up any time soon!

We have ice -- lots of ice on top of snow and I am kept busy putting out food for wildlife. Mostly birds and squirrels. Course the hawks come to eat too. I found your blog both interesting and colorful and would give my last eye tooth for a shot of turkeys in my backyard.

Congrats on 250 posts. I like the new look too.

So glad you found the kitty. We had one we lost like that a couple of times. She'd show up a couple of weeks later all hoarse from crying so we knew she's been trapped somewhere. Last time she didn't ever come home. So sad.

Congratulations on 250 posts! I'm so glad we met through blogging :)
Not sure if this is fun or not but my grandkids love the way I read out loud. I do little voices for all the characters in a story.
So glad you found the kitty. Is he a Maine Coon too?
We're due for a huge storm this weekend.
Love your pictures..
xoxo

Ooooh love your new header and background...VERY nice!! Congratulations on your 250th post...I must say every one of them a pleasure to read:-) I think I'm at about 628 posts...I sure have lots to say for being such a quiet gal in real life! hehe

OMIGOSH, I'd love to win that cookbook!! See, I'm "normal" so I want to take part in that giveaway! lol I will announce your giveaway on my next post:-) How fun!!

You got some great shots of the eclipse as well...isn't it wonderful to know that we were probably doing the same thing at the same time that night:-) I didn't stay out long either to take pictures, it was so frigid out.

Glad your grand kitty was found...poor thing! You just never know where they can get into!! Love the picture of the deer, they sure are beautiful animals.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! I've just come back from having lunch with June...we went to Tim Horton's for a bowl of their chili. Darn it, though, I forgot my donut on the table...it was in a bag. Sigh. lol

Take care dear friend. Love ya. xoxox

Congratulations on 250 posts!!!

I think I'm somewhere around that number too...I'd better go check! LOL

I would love to enter the giveaway for the "normal person"! LOL

I will try to include a link to your giveaway on my next post in a day or so.

And yes, the girls and I loved seeing the eclipse! (Great photos! I wish I had taken my camera!)
I had to take them to Missionettes and my husband was at home and didn't remember to go check it out. But it was very cool...especially since up here in Oregon we had originally been told to expect cloudy skies.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

one funny thing about me..

This is something NO ONE knows yet.
right as i was getting ready to hit the comment button to comment on this post.. I leaned back on my computer chair and the arm broke off of the chair towards the back end of the chair so that the back of the chair gave out and I ended up falling over.. LOL..
Thankfully I"m not hurt.. but darn.. Now I don't have a nice comfy chair to blog in. must correct this soon..

Good Morning Midlife Mom,
I am here by way of Pea from Pea's Corner. She was telling about your Giveaway. "CONGRATULATION'S" on your 250th post. That is alot of post's I should say. I have just went over my 100th post, but I couldn't afford to have a Giveaway right now. Since I just now found out about your Giveaway, I probably won't be able to put it on my blog since your drawing tomorrow at noon. I have already done my post for today. I love your background. This is my first time here. I would love to win the Christmas Cookbook. I do love anything that has to do with Christmas. I don't know if I'm what you call a fun person or not. LOL. My hubby loves my humor tho when we are together. So, I guess you could say that is a fun thing about me. I'm glad you found your little kitty. I love the deer you have around you as well. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Love the new look! I had to laugh as I am sitting here reading your blog my hubby walks by and says Wow, who owns all those turkeys? Anyways, I like to think I am at least semi normal..lol. I would love to be included to win your cookbook please. Thank you!

Congrats!! Blogging really is fun. I love your pictures too. Your farm seems like the perfect place for some really inspiring shots. Our dog went nuts over something fluffy (fox or groundhog) along the field line this AM but I couldn't get a picture. I need the zoom lense. Anyway, I am stuck at the car dealership on the computer here. Gotta love the internet.

By the way, my daughters would totally love the horse book. My parents in NC just had to give up their horses after 20 years. My dad's back just wouldn't let him fix fences, haul hay and food, etc. anymore. We all miss how nice they look running through the pasture in the front field. But, scenic pastures for children visiting once or twice a year doesn't get the hard maintenance work done.
