Weekend Continued......Pats win.....it was a squeaker!!!!!

While we gals were wiling away our time perusing the many outlet shops at the mall the men were doing the Man Thing and enjoying the football game.  Not that I like to miss a good football game mind you but the call of certain outlets is just too much for me to miss!  You know you all know what I mean!  :o)  What is your favorite outlet?????

Mr. D bought this hat or whatever it is and wore it all day.

This is Son and one of the Patriot's alumni Joe Andruzzi and Mr. D has his Super Bowl ring on!

Three generations.

Hey! Is this the new Tom Brady?

It seems like once fall gets here I get the urge to cook more.  I love the smell of spices in the house and molasses cookies are the best for that!

You can see that the recipe card is well worn from use.  The original card called for melted bacon grease instead of Crisco!  I guess we don't all have a coffee can of bacon grease on the back of the stove like in the old days.

You mix everything  and then put it in the refrigerator for at least four hours until it chills.  The cookies just roll out much better if the dough is cold.

Next you need a couple of Rugrats to cut the cookies out for you!   :o)    Miss T and her friend from the neighborhood cheerfully obliged!

I have lots of different cookie cutters for fall.

Notice the flour on her face!

YUM!

If anyone wants the complete recipe just let me know and I will post it.  These are soft molasses cookies and are D-licious!

I have the inside of my house all decorated for fall but not much outside yet. Will get pictures tomorrow to put on my next post.  I L.O.V.E.  fall!!!!

Sounds like a fun weekend up there in the north woods :)
Fall came fast, didn't it? Too fast for me! I'd be happy to hold onto summer for a very long time.
But fall is definitely a beautiful time of year. We have lots of vibrant color here.
Those molasses cookies look delicious. Kids sure love making cookies, don't they? You're a good grandma :)

To answer your question, my favorite outlet store is Coach, with Banana Republic being a close second.

Do you have any of those cookies left?!?!?!

I'd rather shop than go to a football game or even watch one on tv too. I always go with my daughter to the one close to us on Presidents day every year. The sales they have are fantastic. Other wise I don't get there as it is a bit of a drive. I bet those cookies are delicious. How nice you had help with the cut outs.

OH I COULD KISS YOU!!!! You would not believe how long I've been searching for a good molasses cookie recipe. My gran used to make them, then my mom but she hasn't been able to find her recipe. I've searched online but haven't come across a recipe that resembles theirs. So, YES, please do post the recipe:-) I'm going to make some and then bring some to mom to surprise her!!

Love the picture of the three generation football fans:-) My boys were never much into football but Wendy, my DIL, is crazy about it! lol

I brought mom out shopping today plus had to bring her do a bunch of other errands. For lunch, she was hungry for A&W's teen burger, onion rings and root beer so that's where I brought her:-) On the way back home I was admiring the trees, everything is at the peak of the Fall colours and just so gorgeous.

I'll be posting about a giveaway tomorrow so make sure you drop by to enter it:-) Love you to bits!! xoxoxoxox
