Tuesday Talk

The house is starting to look as bare as a birds be-hind! I took all of the fall and Thanksgiving stuff down tonight and put it on the kitchen table. Hubby is taking a load down to the basement each time he goes down to his office to spare me so many trips! I must say it does look all nice and neat though. Won't last long as tomorrow I plan to start hauling out the Christmas stuff. Our yard man worked all day in the drizzle putting up the lights on the front of the house, the star on the roof and the lights on the tree on the lawn and the wreaths on the garage. Tomorrow he will replace some of the lights that are out and put the garland on the porch railings. To think I used to do all of that myself but of late years it seems so nice to have a helping hand.

I was at church most of the day with the decorating committee doing the decorating there. We have a very old church, over 100 years old, and it is really fun to decorate for the different holidays. The stained glass windows are just gorgeous especially when the sun is setting and the last rays are coming right in through them. Wish I had my camera with me today to get some pictures, maybe I will remember when I go back down the end of the week to put the wreaths up outside.

After we finished we went to Tim Horton's for lunch. They have the best broccoli soup, it is to die for. I think I have had it three times in the last couple of weeks! We were walking towards the door and a man came out and said to us "are you ladies going in for lunch?" We said "yes" of course. He said that he was the inspector and had just closed the place down! We looked at him and he didn't have any kind of official looking jacket on and then he started to laugh. He wasn't any more of an inspector then I am Santa! He was just being funny I guess but it was kind of weird. We went in and the manager overheard us talking about it and wasn't very happy about it. He had no idea who the guy was. I guess it takes all kinds.

Well we found out what is living in our barn and it is the little black kitten. I finally got a looksy the other day and sure enough there he was eating the food I had set out. I really need to set the live trap and catch him/her and take him/her to the vet to be fixed and then I guess he can just live in the barn and hopefully we will eventually tame him. I just don't want any kittens born if it is a she as there are way too many unwanted cats around and I don't want to add to the problem. He's a pretty little thing but VERY skittish, you can't get anywhere near him. I just wonder where he came from or if someone just dumped him here. Sad.

DIL's Mom brought me a hostess gift on Thanksgiving day. It is the cutest wall hanging! She makes the nicest things and is the one that got me into quilting quite a number of years back. Isn't he cute?!!

I got the wall hanging put up that I made last spring. I'm working on another one but it's going slow, may have to be for next Christmas! I have been working on the fleece pajama pants that my grands like so well. They work up really fast, faster if I would get myself down in my sewing room!

Well I must go to the dentist for a cleaning and then a few more Christmas things to pick up. The sun is shining and it's in the 40's so a very mild day. Hope you all are having a good week!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.......

What a cute snowman wall hanging! He looks big too. I always love putting everything up and I love taking it all down and having the house back to normal again. These days I am not real sure what normal is. Ha.

The painter will be done on Friday if all goes well and then I will start hauling everything out.

Today is cold and drizzling here. My mom just called and is not feeling well - little fever, leg spasms, etc. so think I will take her to the ER. I am a little worried that the pressure sore might be getting infected, although it doesn't look like it. They can go so fast.

Glad that you discovered that it was indeed a kitty. I hope that you can catch it and have it fixed.

Tell R he is a good guy to schlep all those bins up and down for you. Hugs, my friend.

I think my MIL helped put away some of my Thanksgiving decor today....I seriously doubt hubby did it - LOL, LOL. So, now if I can get him to bring up Christmas "stuff" we might be able to transition to Christmas decor with more than week to go before Christmas.

I wish a kitty would take up residence here...Lu wants a kitty but I really don't think we NEED one, however if one just took up here and didn't leave then I guess we wouldn't have much choice, would we - LOL!

Have a great evening!

XOXO

The snowman wall hanging is so cute! I am about 3/4 done with my decorating - it's a challenge with little munchkins crawling around on the floor. Check out the picture!

It was 68 today, but winter comes back tomorrow.

I'd love to see pictures of your church - old churches can be so beautiful. We had our "Hanging of the Greens service Sunday night and it was such fun.

I'm sure you'll be having fun getting all the Christmas decorations out and up. Can't wait to see them.

I'm glad you're feeding the black kitten. I have a calico kitten here that was living in the woods. I would see it on the edges, looking towards the house. Just a kitten. I started taking food up there and it would eat and run. I finally managed to trap it, just before the real cold got here. It is very sad that people drop animals off like that. It's a terrible problem out here, and causes me such distress!

Love the wall hangings, especially the snowman, and enjoyed the post as always. Have a great rest of the week.

Hugs,

What a strange thing for that guy to say! I guess he thought he was being funny. Weird!
Can't wait to see this lil black kitten. Poor thing! Wonder how he got there too, that's so sad and lonely.
Love you wall hangings too, those are beautiful! You ladies are so talented!!

You sure have a lot of Thanksgiving things to pack up! I love your snowman wall hanging!!! I am a snowman person myself!

Glad the little kitty has a warm barn to winter in. You'll tame him...it just takes time. I have one that I've had for like 5 years in my laundry room, and I still can't touch him! Someday, he'll come around. I have tamed worse than him, some that my vet saud I would NEVER tame! I can now hold those ones like a baby in my arms!

I am still shopping when I can get out of here and away from work and the phone....I'll get it done eventually!

Drop by my blog...I have an award waiting for you!

ROFL...love that snowman cartoon! Isn't it amazing how many decorations we have for each holiday? My table looked the same when I took down my Thanksgiving stuff back in October!! Can't wait to see pictures of your Christmas decorating!

Wow, that was weird for that man to tell you that when you were entering Tim Horton's. With all the food recalls and places being shut down because of e-coli, etc, it's not something to joke about. It's no wonder the manager wasn't very happy!! I've never tried their Broccoli soup...I love their Mushroom Soup as well as their Chili...yummmm!

Glad to hear that it's the stray kitty that's been eating the food you're leaving in the barn. About an hour ago I had the mama kitty and two kittens come in to eat...the little black & white one is really skittish and won't let me near him but the other one likes to play:-) I worry about them out in the frigid temps but they seem to be just fine. The mama spent all last winter outside so I guess she's got a good hiding place where it's warm.

What a darling snowman wall hanging! I remember that other wall hanging you had made last year...you do beautiful work. I hem pants...that's about it! lol

We're in for ANOTHER snowstorm, can you believe it? They're saying it will start overnight and be nasty tomorrow...I'm supposed to be going to an "Old Fashioned Tree Lighting" tomorrow night but now it will depend if the storm is done by then. Ugh, enough of the snow already!! We've got as much snow now as we had all last winter.

Love your background:-) Love you my friend. xoxoxoxo
