15 day till spring!

Be sure to check out Pea's 5 Year Blogiversary, she is having a wonderful Give Away for Easter!

My sister has been visiting with us since last Friday and she headed home this morning.  We had a nice time, I always enjoy her visits.  We like to go to certain places each time to hunt for treasures and this time I hit the jackpot.  We were in a thrift shop and I spied this old chair for $1.99.  It is so cute and I like to put plants where the seat used to be and this one was already missing the seat.   :o)

I need to sand it down a bit and put some poly on it and it will be ready to go.  I stuck some fake ferns in it for now but will put some plants and ivy in when it’s warm enough to be outside. I love the curved back.  For less then $2.00 you can’t go wrong.

She got a great wooden tray to carry things out to her picnic table.

We stopped to see the boys on our way back.  Oh do I dread shedding season!  Little Kipper looks like a great big powder puff with all his hair!  I have had him on a work out schedule all winter so I hope when the hair is gone he will look a little more svelte this summer!  Nick wears a blanket all winter so he won’t have much to shed out but Lil’ Bud looks pretty fuzzy so will need a lot of grooming.  I can’t wait to clip around his face as he gets a lot of long hair under his chin which is less then photogenic.  They will be coming home after we get back from New York around the middle of April or first of May depending on how things have dried up out in the pastures.

We celebrated Miss T’s birthday Saturday night, she is now nine years old.  Where did those nine years go?!! It seems like she should still be a toddler running around here with my shoes on! Clomp, clomp, clomp!

Her cat Penelope was right in the middle of everything.  Doesn’t she have pretty markings?

It is so hard to see them grow up. Like you, I would like to keep them little for a much longer time. Happy birthday to Ms.T!! It will be double digits next year. Our son turns 41 today. How did THAT happen?

I remember pictures in the past of the tremendous amount of hair that you have shown from the boys. It really is amazing.

Your plant stand is awesome. It will look so nice when you are finished. Will you put it in your new sunroom?

When do the snowbirds return? Will they wait until you return from NY?

I hope you are finally enjoying some more springlike weather up there. Did those bugs abandon your household????? Let's hope so. xoxo

I agree those little ones do grow up so fast. Our youngest gd will be 12 tomorrow.
I love the chair with no seat and now a plant stand. The price was very good too.
Have a nice day.

I bet the horses will be glad to be back at home!

Boy Miss T. is going up fast! What cute little darling she was in the picture!

I was wondering when the snowbirds were going to return also.

Nine years! I wondered how old she was getting to be but I can't even imagine she's already nine! They do grow up way too fast, that's for sure but you are so lucky you have such a tight knit family those years will all be shared. very cool.

Happy Birthday T!! Nine already... wow. You are so right about them growing up too fast. Wrecking Crew turned five on Monday. Cub is six. Jo is nine.... time is slipping away much much too fast.

But it sure is fun while it lasts!! ;)

Love the chair!! It is going to look fantastic with all sorts of pretty leaves spilling out over the top!!

I have a real problem with the way time is flyign by too. 9 years old already! It seems just the other day she was a little one.
Great find - I love that chair. I also use old broken things in the garden. A stroke of genius 10 years ago was to plonk a hosta in the old iron wheelbarrow and top it up with soil. I cannot describe the size it gets in the summer! It must be the iron, of course. One of these days the bottom will fall out as it rusts, but I will worry about that when it happens!

How nice to have a visit with your sister. Mine are quite close by but I never get to spend much time with them. They are busy with their own lives so when they do have time, I love being with them. Our little ones do grow up so fast. Time seems to fly the older I get and they just shouldn't grow so fast...I hope your Day is a wonderful one there. It's nice to be thinking about some warmer days ahead.

Thank you so much for advertising my giveaway, I really appreciate it:-)

Ooooh that old chair is just perfect to put flowers in and I can't get over that you only had to pay $1.50 for it. Amazing the treasures one can find at yard sales, flea markets and auctions:-) No doubt your sister enjoyed her visit with you and I love the big tray she got for herself. I have a huge one that I use all the time when it comes to bringing out/in food to the patio table.

Happy Birthday to T!! They sure do grow up fast and I always say not to blink, otherwise they turn another year older!! lol Their cat is gorgeous, love the markings.

No doubt the boys were happy to see you and I know how anxious you are to bring them back home. Let's hope that Spring finally arrives for all of us!! Today it's sunny and 43F, the highest it's been all winter, woohoo! That should get the snow melting...or at least start to melt.

I need to go out to run some errands and think I will wear only a thick sweater:-) Love you to bits! xoxoxo

Sounds like you're feeling better - I'm thankful for that! And for spring coming.

What fun at the thrift store. Where does this sister live? Glad you had fun.

I'm so behind again - I've been doing the 40 bags in 40 days challenge when I don't have the girls. I showed some pretty bad "before" pictures on this new post. Yikes!

Kev is doing well and Angie will be there in 9 days now. They're excited. Keep praying!!
