Patriot's Up Close And Personal

Yesterday was family day for us at Gilette Stadium.  We all loaded onto a bus and traveled down to Foxboro to watch the game.  It's about a 3-4 hour drive depending on traffic and it was nice to have someone else doing the driving.  All the  little cousins had fun making tents between the seats and running back and forth and everyone else gabbed with each other non stop as only families can do.

It was nice that some of us got to go down on the field during the game to see everything up close.  That's always a thrill.  From left to right this is Son, Nephew, Nephew on scooter, Nephew and BIL.  You may notice none of us women got a pass to go down...........what's with that????

It's fun to see the players come onto the field this close.

It's nice watching the game in the skybox as you are undercover no matter what the weather is.  These big windows open if you want to hear the crowd and if it's not feezing cold!  I like sports if they are climate controlled!!

This place is HUGE!  Wouldn't it be nice to have a riding ring even a quarter this big?  I know, always thinking in terms of horses.

What made it even nicer was that the Pat's won the game!

We are supposed to get some snow tonight, about 4-9 inches depending on what weather station you watch.  They are already talking about a huge storm on New Year's Day but things can change before then so we don't get too excited about it.  We did have enough snow to do a bit of snowmobiling until it rained all day yesterday and took almost all of it off.  I didn't get out but Son took T and D out for a ride.  They've sure been getting hit with snow in some parts of the country,  much more then we have.

I put away a few Christmas things today and got all of the linens washed.  I want to iron the napkins before I put those in the china closet drawer so that they will be all nice for the next time I want to use them.  Seeing as I had things out of the china closet I took the opportunity to clean it as it was a bit dusty in places.  I like keeping my tree up in the living room and the mantel decorated as I enjoy the lights when I am in there.  I will keep my villages up over my kitchen cupboards until March as they are not specifically Christmas but winter.

I will be having my Pioneer Woman Cookbook give away soon so be sure to enter!  You don't have to have a blog to enter as I have some people that read that don't have blogs but you have to leave a comment.  You can send your cookbooks to her to have them signed if you want.  She's a nice gal, her sense of humor just cracks me up.  I wish she had come to Maine on her book tour.  Think she would if I called?

How exciting to attend a big ball game like that. We're not real into sports but I know a lot of people are.

Wow! You were up close at the game! What fun...well, I'm not a big football fan, but it would be fun to be there and be that close.

I've been taking my Christmas stuff down too!

Wow...that WAS up close and personal!!!! What a thrill for the kids especially. I am with you for climate controlled sports events. Of course your climat and mine are soooo different.

I did hear that you are in for some good weather - especially over new years. We'll watch it as the ball drops, but it may be through eyelids for me.

My graphics are through Cutest Blog on the Block. Easy to do yourself. If you want info, just e-mail me. Only problem I am seeing is that the CBOTB wording is over the title. Does it come across that way for the reader? I know there must be a way to move it, but dang if I can figure it out.

E just told me that tonight is the last Monday Night Football game on TV. My response??? Oh yeah, Super Bowl isn't too far off!!!!!

Yes, I think E and R must be great grandpas - aggitators or not!

Wishing you smooth weather for Nick's surgery trip. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs and xxxxx.

What a great idea to have a bus. Everyone is traveling together.

No way we can get tickets for the game here. We're in Redskins territory. Once in a blue moon, my husband has an opportunity to go and sit in the box.

Happy New Year!

Wow MM, you guys are ALWAYS up to something up there! Too Cool! I must confess, I am not a Pat's fan... lol....but that had to be a thrill to be able to watch the game in the flesh!

We put Christmas away yesterday too... the house looks empty now. I joked with Dear Husband and said maybe we need a couple of those pretty fake trees they sell at WallyWorld... he snorted and said "And just how long do you REALLY think those would last with the boys?" He had a good point! ;)

Hope the snow you get is controllable! (Hahahaha.. I know I know... no control! LOL)

Stay warm, and hugs all around!!

No, I haven't been kidnapped or anything! lol Just taking a break from blogging and Facebook and enjoying time with Steve and Corey:-) Actually Corey left to go visit friends today before heading back to his place but Steve is here until New Year's Day. We've been going out every day, as well as spending time inside and just relaxing. I will try to get a post up in the next day or so:-)

How wonderful that you all got to go to the Patriot's game, no doubt it was a fun day! Even better that they won the game that day!!!

I usually take down my tree and decorations the day after New Year's Day...don't look forward to that job! lol I need to wash all the linens as well and like you, I always iron it all for the next use.

Thank you so much for your concern, I guess I should have put it on my blog that I was taking a little break!! Love you to bits:-) xoxoxo

Wow - how did I get so far behind?? Sounds like you had a great time in the last few days - that is the only way I'd want to watch a football game!

The mice are so cute - lots of work, though.

I will wait till New Year's day to take stuff down. I'm not looking forward to it - so much work!

Has it been windy and cold there? Kev really loves his new Bean boots!

I was raised to not go to movies - I've only been to 3 in my life - Veggie Tales, End of the Spear, and Fireproof. This was the 4th - it was wonderful. You would love it - it was worth breaking the old taboo! It is PG 13, and I'm not sure why the 13 is there. I was so uplifted when it was over.

Believe me, the words to that song are not easy to live, but I'm really going to make an effort this year to "trust and obey" and not be so worried, though there is SO MUCH to worry about!!

Going to Florida with you and NM would be heavenly. Wish it could happen!

Well, friend, have a wonderful week-end and a blessed 2010!
