Happy New Year Give Away!

It's snowing again today.  We have had quite a bit lately and if it hadn't rained all day last Sunday we would be snowed under!  I would be out on my snowmobile taking a little run around the property but not quite enough snow for that YET....  Snow today, tomorrow and Sunday with snow showers on Monday.  I had to shovel a path to get to my bird feeder with Noodles helping of course.  Look at those cute little footprints!

The trees are laden with snow.

This is my clothesline!  Guess I won't be hanging out any clothes today!

A hairy woodpecker was getting a litle snack.

A few more Christmas pictures of why I need to go on a diet in the new year!                   Sweet potato casserole.

Orange salad with cottage cheese, orange pieces, Cool Whip and orange jello.

Stuffing from inside the bird.  Don't know how to make it any other way!

Squash fresh from SIL's garden this fall!

I have decided to share the fun and good fortune of winning an autographed Pioneer Woman Cookbook from Donna in Missouri by giving away the copy that I bought before I won the one from her.  This copy is not autographed but you can send it to PW and she will autograph it and send it back to you. (Forgot to say that you don't have to have a blog to enter but leave me an addy where I can reach you!)

We are going to be away next week so I will do the drawing on January 10th.  Just leave me a comment and get one point also mention it in your blog and get two more points.  I don't have a button but I think you can copy one of these pictures and put it in your blog.  Good luck and I hope you all win!!!  Thank you Donna for making this give away possible!!

Speaking of being away, we are still planning on taking Nick down for his surgery on Monday if the weather allows.  I have purchased  an ultra heavy duty blanket for him to wear on the way down and leg wraps to keep his legs warm.  The bale of hay is in the trailer,  the bag of grain is in the garage waiting to be put in, an extra blanket is packed in case he needs it, I don't think he will but I like to cover all bases, I'm going to put shavings on the floor of the trailer to help keep that warmer, I have bought a new light weight blanket for the barn at the surgical center as they keep the heat on 50* and I don't want him to over heat and we have a big thing to take water in the truck so that it won't freeze.

Whew!  It's like taking ones child to the hospital and packing their favorite blankie and stuffed toy.  Also a bucket, brushes and a shot of banemine just in case.  Can you think of anything else I might need?  Oh, my camera, I hope to get some good pictures of the procedure.  I took my Tahoe in yesterday as the engine light was on and had that fixed, it was something to do with the fumes from the gasoline.  Soooooo I think I'm ready.  Now let's pray that the three snowstorms we are supposed to have get cleared out!!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I would enjoy another cookbook! Count me in.

I hope the snow stops for your trip - and for Kev's sake!

Sis and I are starting Prism tomorrow at church, hopefully with enough others to actually have the program. It's a Biblical healthy program, so should be interesting. Very challenging, though. Hope I can do it. I'm desperate to feel better and look better!

Have a safe trip!

As I watched Times Square last night, I was wondering what sort of weather you folks were getting. It certainly looks pretty. I can't imagine there isn't enough snow for snowmobiling yet.

Wishing you a very safe journey next week. It sounds as though you are well prepared for the adventure. I'm sure you will be glad to have it behind you.

Please toss my name in the hat as well even though I decided that I can't eat another bite in my life!!!!

Wishing you and yours a blessed 2010. xoxox

I want to know what the food is in the photos! I am drooling here in a totally unbecoming fashion.I love the snowy photos - it is bitterly cold here, but the snow has gone. For now. Up north they have plenty though!
Happy New Year!

Please put my name in the mix for the cookbook. Great pictures...but I'm glad all that snow is there. We still have ours on the ground too which is unusual for it to stay around this long in our area.

I'd sure love the PW cookbook but I'd probably have to buy bigger clothes if I won. LOL

Are you planning on wrapping all four legs for the trip? If so, is he used to wraps on his hind legs? If not you might want to get him used to them before you leave. Horses not used to hind wraps can do a lot of kicking during their trip which sure isn't anything you want.

Other than that, sounds like you've thought of everything.

Hope you have a happy and prosperous New Year!!

I came over by way of Donna from Just ME. I would like to be entered in the contest. I have added a little entry at my blog, "Life in a Small Town" about the contest. Here's my addy: http://hollie-lifeinasmalltown.blogspot.com/

I pray everything goes well with Nick. I also enjoyed all your photos. I love the snow as we seldom get any here. It's beautiful, but I know you probably get tired of it. Everything looked delicious at your house!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year my very dear friend!! Finally have all the Christmas decorations put away and the house back to normal so now I have time to "play":-) We have about the same amount of snow, it really hasn't snowed much more in a couple of weeks. Right now we're experiencing frigid temps so it's too darn cold to snow! lol

The food looks so delicious! When I make stuffing, I put some inside the turkey and the rest I wrap up in foil and put it in the oven to cook. When the turkey is ready, I scoop out the stuffing and mix it up with the one I cooked in the foil:-)

Ooooh, how I would love to win that cookbook! I've heard so much about The Pioneer Woman, really must go check out her blog. I will announce your giveaway on my sidebar and in my next post:-)

All the very best of luck to Nick on his upcoming surgery...wow, you're right, it really is like taking a child and having to pack all his favourite stuff!

Wanted to let you know that mama kitty and 9 of her brood are all at the shelter now, only 2 more to trap, one from last year and one from last Spring. It broke my heart to see mama go (had to put her in the cage myself...sigh) but I know it was for the best.

All the very best in 2010, my friend, and looking forward to our continuing friendship! Love you to bits. xoxoxoxo

I have been so impressed with all my blogging friends who received Pioneer Woman cookbook for Christmas. I would love a copy for my cookbook rack.

I'm praying for you and your hubby as you take Nick for his surgery. Hope all goes well.

We have snow too. Not quite as much as you, but enough that Jim has had to use the snow blower several times. Like you, we are looking at snow for the next few days. I'm a little concerned about Monday, which is supposed to be the worst. Jim has his colonoscopy that day which means I have to drive.

Monday also starts my plan to eat sensibly and exercise every day. I do Curves and plan to try something called Zumba with some girlfriends. I'll be taking pictures and posting about it.

Take care and drive carefully.

~hippo hugs~

Is Bigfoot Real or fake? For more than 4 hundred years, there have been reporting’s of a man like beast that's entirely covered in hair.
