Back to the real world.

Now that we've been back home from the sunny south for a week or so it seems like a distant memory. The temps have been fairly cold except for Sunday and they were a balmy 40*! :o) I didn't even wear my winter coat to church, I wore my spring/summer coat and was plenty warm.

We were out snowmobiling all day Saturday. T got a machine of her own to drive so she was one happy camper!

Here she is out with Daddy learning the different things that she needs to know to ride safely. Her machine looks as big as Daddy's but it has a MUCH smaller motor and is lighter so can be driven by youngsters (with supervision, of course!) She goes with Daddy in front and Mom behind her. She did very well and loved every minute of it on our ride. We went very slow which is fine with me as I don't like to go fast.

Before we left the house a little sparrow hit the window so I went out to investigate and there he was sitting on the deck obviously stunned. I picked him up before the cats caught sight of him and put him on T's finger to perch until he got his bearings back.

After a few minutes he flew off no worse the wear. Yeah! I love it when they are okay. Sometimes they do themselves in hitting the glass and I feel so badly about it! :o( T was thrilled that he would sit on her finger and that she could get a good look at him.

It was beautiful out on the trails Saturday. We haven't had any new snow for over a week and a half but the riding was still good. I let Cousin K drive mine so that I could take some pictures as we went along.

Of course we had to stop at Dunkin Donuts for hot chocolate and the kids had hash browns and a donut. Mrs. Mom, cover your eyes!!!!

I love this picture of Cousin K helping T with her helmet! They all have such a good time together.

With anything mechanical there is always a problem or two but thankfully this one didn't hold us up long.

The painters are here so my house is all torn up. Well the kitchen, dining area, dining room and hallway. I had paper on the dining room walls and I have never liked it since the day it was put on. Have you ever done that? This was 4 or 5 years ago so I think I stuck it out pretty well. They have all the old paper taken off, have filled in all the holes from nails that I used to put up pictures and are now working on the ceilings. It'll be a mess here for about a week but then I will show you the finished results.

My friend and fellow cat lover Nancy who you all know from Nancy's Nonsense has given all of her regular readers some wonderful awards and I would like to thank her for sharing the love! I have proudly put them on my side bar and would like to pass them along to all of my readers as well!

Guess that's about it for today. Hope you all are having a great week and I will try to get around to see everyone. :o)

I do love the idea of snow-mobiling through the forests! not to mention the donuts at the end of the trail. One day! I have no idea, though, how you manage to stay on and still take photos!

Yes...T's machine looks WAAAAY too big for her. Someday I plan on you giving me a ride on one!!!

I can only offer sympathy to you on the disruption in your house this week. It will be so nice whn it is finished and well worth the mess.

I'm glad the little sparrow was just fine. I am sure it must have been a thrill to have it sit so still.

They are putting in the tankless water heater today so I have no gas AND no water. It's okay because I was taking my mom to her doctor appt. and running a few errands with her. Now that I am home it is worse. ;(

We were at an AAM*GA meeting at the Conquistador. You will love it. It is just difficult to get there and some of the neighborhoods that you drive through are questionable.

Have a wonderful week, my friend. xoxo

I would love for someone to come and do all my walls - the last time around I did it all myself and it's all pretty worn out.

Our church has a breezeway that is glass on both sides - we often have poor little dead birds in the church yard. Sad.

And when we were in Georgia with my BIL and SIL, we were sitting on the patio having lunch. We heard this chattering then a thunk - two squirrels had been arguing in a very, very tall pine tree and one of them fell to the ground. I thought sure it was a gonner, but it sat there stunned for awhile, then started walking, and soon ran off. It was a relief!

OK, I have been so behind in blogland, but just finished sitting here, catching up with you!
I read your vacations posts...wow, I just loved reading all about your trip and seeing those gorgeous photos!
But some of the negative things that happened at the beginning sounded like a few of our vacation problems! (Only we missed our flight coming back from our family trip to Hawaii and had to rent a car and drive back 3 hrs from Seattle late at night.) ;)
So wonderful, though, that you had that nice tropical respite in the middle of winter... and got to meet up again with your friend!

I loved all these snowmobiling pictures, too...back home in your beloved snow country! :D

Can't wait to see your finished kitchen...we, too, put some wall paper up in our kitchen border when we moved in (7 yrs ago) ...I liked it for about a year and then not so much! ;)

Blessings,
~Tammy

You make the snow look like so much fun! I bet it's nice though to be out and about spending time with family.

Your windows must be super clean and streak free if you have birds flying into them. lOL!

Oh how I know the feeling of having your house torn apart. It's always such a pain to have everything awry. I bet it will look fabulous afterwards though. I can't wait to see pics.

Have a great week!! *hugs*

Oh Be Still My heart! LOL I hope you ate a donut for me! ;)

The snow looks fun when you do it. When we tried it, I always wound up witht he "stubborn" machine and had "issues". I think it was out to get me! (Course, this was any machine they put me on...lol)

Glad it is warming up there though. Bet you cant wait to get the horses home!!!

Much much love to you!!!!

Those snowmobile rides always look like such fun and the scenery is breathtaking. T looks so little on that big machine, but I bet she just loves the thrill of doing it all by herself.
I never enjoy having my house torn up for renovation type things, but the end result is so worth it!
Glad the little bird was ok, they hit our sliders across the back of the house all the type. Most make it, but some don't :(
Have a great week.
love you,
xoxo
