Christmas Party Fun

Oh my, I haven't been a very good blogger lately. It seems like there is just so much to do this time of year and blogging gets put on the back burner. As I read other blogs I see I'm not the only one that could use a few extra hours each day, we all seem to have more to do then we have time for. I refuse to let it stress me though, I have decided to let some things go this year. I'm not going to put up all of my Dept. 56 villages which takes hours and hours. Maybe a few here and there but that's it. I love this time of year and don't want anything to take away the joy of the season.

We had our Christmas party last Saturday at the country club. They rent out their facility for functions and this was the first time we have used it, it was so pretty. It was quite stormy that day so the greens were covered with a blanket of fresh snow.

This year we did something different and invited all of the children to attend. Usually it's just the adults which is okay but having the children just made it so much more festive and fun! I told T that I wanted her to cover her name up as I don't put her name in my blog so she did.

D was enjoying soda which he doesn't get very often........

Santa was there for the kids.

Even FIL got into the fun!

This little gal got up and sang for us. Sorry it's so dark but I was quite a distance from her. I think she is only 5 or 6 and she wasn't a bit shy!

Anywho we had a lovely time!

Yesterday I had a rather unnerving experience with a hunter. We don't allow hunting on our property because we are out there constantly with the kids, horses, 4-wheeling and the neighborhood children like to play out there plus some of the adults like to walk and cross country ski. My grandchildren run through the path through the woods to come to my house on a regular basis and I don't want anyone with a gun out there.

As I was leaving the house yesterday I saw a hunter coming towards our property with a bow gun so I stopped and said hello and where are you going to hunt? I said it nicely and was going to explain to him just what I explained to you. He looked at me and said it was none of my f------business! I almost fell out of the car! I said to him that it was my business because I owned the land that he was going on and that we don't allow hunting and he went ballistic and called me every name in the book using the most foul language that I have ever heard in my life! I asked him his name and again he said it was none of my f-------- business so I told him I was going to call the police. I felt this was getting out of hand and he was so angry I was a little scared. For one thing hunting season is over here so he had no reason to be going into the woods with a bow gun.

He took off and went into the woods and I called the police but by the time they could get here he was out of sight. They followed his tracks for a long way but he came to a road and evidently called someone on a cell phone and they came to pick him up. We have no idea where he lives but he most certainly has a problem and no one wants him in our little safe neighborhood. The police told me to alert the neighbors and if anyone sees him again to call them and they will try again to find out who it is and do something about it. Yikes! I don't like this! I'm not afraid but it's a little uncomfortable knowing there is someone out there that is so angry with me.

So I will keep you posted and will also post more signs on my land. I told the police that someone just tears them down but they said to try to keep something put up so people won't have any excuse for being there hunting. I'm glad my horses and ponies are at the stable right now. I'd hate to think that someone might retaliate but in this day and age you never know.

Must get some more decorating done inside today. My poor trees are still nekkid! I tried taking a picture of my outside decorations the other night but my shutter speed was so slow I couldn't hold the camera steady enough so will take my tripod out some night when we get some snow back.

Someone sent me this saying the other day. Maybe it's true that life begins at fifty, but everything else starts to wear out, fall out and spread out! Phyllis Diller Is she still around?

Well I'm off to the dermatologist to have eleven shots in my bald spots on my head! Doesn't that just sound yummy??? lol!! Actually it's not too bad and it is working so it is well worth it. I just hope I don't sprout a full beard anytime soon from the steroids!

Enjoy this special season everyone!

OMIGOSH! D. is sooo cute with his soda pop. The pictures are really nice.

Isn't it scary how some people are so nuts!!! They need Jesus for sure.

The language itself would make just cry. How about the crazy governor of Illinois using such foul language? What a world we live in.

Hope you get your decorating finished. I finally got mine done today. I had totally forgotten about the tree on my sun porch. It's a little crooked, but from the outside, who will know? Oh yes, You.

That is one scary story. I would not feel comfortable either. It is too bad that there have to be such crazies out there.

The kids look so cute. I'll bet they really enjoyed the party this year. How special it must have been to have been included.

I'm a terrible blogger too. There is just too much going on right now. My decorating is scaled back this year too. It is so late now with the painter just finishing and I think I would just be burying myself to try to start so late. Next year......

Take care my fellow nakkid tree friend.

The Christmas party looked like great fun, and your grandkids are adorable. D was really enjoying those soda's. LOl. And T has the cutest smile.

The encounter with that crazy hunter would have scared me! And can't you just paint some trees along the road with purple paint? That is what we do, and it officially means no hunting or trespassing, and paint can't just be torn down!

I haven't been posting much either, mostly because I haven't been in the mood. Bah humbug feelings.

Take good care, and be very careful with those not so nice hunters! That has me totally worried now.

And hey, if you should sprout a beard, have someone take a picture, will ya? LOL.

Hugs and blessings,

Renie

I'm still giggling at the picture of D with the two straws...making up for not getting soda (pop as we call it here)very often! lol Too cute! Sounds like it was a fun time at the party and as you say, it always seems to make it more enjoyable when there's children involved:-) Such adorable pictures with Santa as well!!

Omigosh, what a horrible run in you had with that guy...that would have scared the daylights outta me too. Hopefully he won't come around again and will get an attitude adjustment at the same time!!! You be careful, my friend. I'm glad you called the police, hopefully something can be done if he's seen again.

Ouch on the 11 shots you had to get on your head...do they hurt very much? Glad they seem to be working and if you do sprout a beard, I'll send you a good razor! lol

Get your tree decorated yet? I think I'm pretty much ready for Christmas now...just a few things yet I have to do but at least the big stuff is all done. Today when I brought mom shopping, I also finished my own Christmas shopping.

We're not bad bloggers, we're just busy bloggers! lol Love you my friend. xoxoxoxxo

OMG,what a scary story.
I can't believe some of the things that go on these days
I agree with HC we all need to get back to the Lord.
I hope the grandkids go a different route for awhile.
They are so cute.
God bless

Yikes! That really was a scary encounter!

The kids look adorable - DC's company always has the kids at their party. We missed it this year because of Care Bear's school program.

The shots sound horrendous!

Very cute pictures of T and D. Santa is not bad either! LOL
About the hunter, it is just so bad these days that people have no respect for other people's property and would talk to you that way! Keep an eye out for him.
I have fallen behind on blogging and commenting myself. It is just so busy this time of year, I think everyone understands. Have a great Christmas to you and yours!

OMIGOSH! That is freaky. YUCK!

On a more positive note - what a cute picture of Grampa with Santa! And I love the picture of D with the two straws and the peace sign. What a little buggar.

Looks like a fun party!

D with the soda and 2 straws made me chuckle!

The party looked like fun for all! How nice that Santa was able to be there, too, for the children!

That hunter is a real fruitcake! I would be worried if I were you. Never know what someone could do to get back at you. People are so ignorant these days! I'd get me a gun if I were you and shoot in the air even if it was just a blank the next time I saw him around there, and if that doesn't scare him off, then he would be doing a pretty fast tap dance for me!!! Maybe you need a pit bull to greet him! Let's hope you scared him off for good with your police call.

Anxious to see your decorating pics now. I am going to post my outdoor decorations the week of Christmas. I did a post right after midnight as today is my daughter's birthday. Next week will be my Christmas post.

And then another year coming in! Where is the time going???!!!
