Oh me, oh my, where does the time go? Are the clocks set faster in the summer time? When I think of how I used to post every day I just can't imagine how I did it! I will plug along and try to get at least one post per week out so hang in there with me!
It was a wonderful Memorial Weekend! The weather was beautiful, breezy and warm, just the way I like it. We started it off with Mr. D's birthday party on Friday night. He is now seven years old, and again, where did the time go?!
Opening his gifts.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. D!!!!! XOXOXOX
We also did some more fishing over the weekend. It wasn't as cold as last time and we still needed jackets and caps on. The fish were biting a bit better and we got a couple good ones.
A nice bass that Mr. D caught.
YIKES! Look at this one! It's a ................I don't know how to spell it........... :o( Okay, anyone out there know how to spell what it is? pick-er-al ? Miss T caught it but didn't want anything to do with it!
Grampie showing the kids the teeth in this one!
All the fish were thrown back as we like to catch and release unless we get something that is really good eating.
After coming home from fishing we packed up again and headed to our lake to put the dock in for the summer. We always have a good crowd show up to help and we put in ours and the Hubs brother's next door.
The Hubs and his brother plus D (in his 15 year old cousins clothes) as he went swimming in his! These two got smart and bought themselves a pair of chest waders so that they didn't have to get into the cold water in a bathing suit!
There is more but it's time to head out to get my hair cut. It needs it VERY badly and also some color! Every old barn needs a little paint once in a while! :o)

It looks and sounds like you folks have been enjoying the summer weather up there.
I don't think I would be holding that P....fish's mouth open to look at the teeth!
Is the cabin all finished now for the summer too? You are going to have so much fun there this year.
The time does tend to go faster during the summer. I think it must be because we have more outdoor jobs to add to the indoor ones.
Happy birthday to D. I can't believe he is already seven years old. Yes, where did the time go?
We had the gang here for Memorial Day and had a wonderful time. Then E, #3 son and four of his sons went fishing Tuesday. They got home last evening and had a fun time.
Don't worry about posting only once a week. I always look forward to them. I am lucky to get one in that often these days.
Hugs!!!
Oh!!!! that lake looks wonderful! So cool and refreshing!!!!! Think I am about ready to move. We are supposed to see 105 by the weekend! Yikes!
Sounds like a great time! I was wondering if the cabin was finshed yet also? I can't wait to see pictures of it!
woweeee...always so much to be had in Maine! Brave to hold any type of fish! I always loved to catch them as a kid and have great memories but I NEVER put the worm on nor touch the fishes! LOL!!!!

Oh how fun! I have never heard of a pickeral! Happy Birthday to Mr. D! Time does go fast when it is summer time!
Oh yes, I also swear that there are fewer hours this time of year! Between renovating, planting, mulching, weeding, etc, there seems to be no time for anything else. I use to post and visit every day as well...those days seem to be long gone! lol
Happy Birthday to D!! No doubt he really had a fun birthday and I love the picture of him eating his cupcake while wrapped in a blanket! hehe
Every time I see your pictures of a fishing trip, it always brings back memories of when I'd go fishing with my dad. So many wonderful memories:-) It's funny, I had 4 brothers but yet I was the only one who liked to go fishing with him!! I'm so glad to hear you guys throw back the fish that you won't be eating, so many people just waste them. Pickerel is the fish that dad loved to fish for...that and Pike:-) Our little cabin was on the French River and it was known for its pickerel and pike so dad was in his glory. lol
Keep enjoying these days, my friend. I've just come in from putting down mulch in my flowerbeds and I swear I had more on me than in the flowerbeds! I'm a messy gardener, what can I say! lol Love you to bits. xoxoxo
