Pioneer Woman Cookbook Winner!

Today was the big day for the drawing for my Pioneer Woman Cookbook Give Away!  Thank you to so many that entered and to all of you that put it on your blogs!  I've had fun visiting so many blogs and meeting new people.  The winner is, drum roll please, Pam over at Pamsponderings-hippochick.blogspot.com Congratulations Pam, I hope you enjoy your copy as much as I am enjoying mine.  E-mail me your snail mail addy and I will get it right out to you!  thediz@roadrunner.com

The Hubs and I headed to Foxboro yesterday morning about 6:30 to see the last Patriots game of the year.  If any of you watched the game you know it was a disaster from the first play.   :o(    We had a good time anyhow and the most fun was going down on the field at half time.  Let me tell you, looking around at 70,000 people is a bit overwhelming at best.

This is BIL, me and The Hubs with our passes on that we had to wear to get down on the field with a host. It was VERY cold!  The people in the stands we so bundled up they could hardly move.  Fortunately we were in a heated sky box but they do open the front windows during the game but it's still not that cold.

The windows slide open but there are sofas further inside the room so that you can sit back there and watch the game on a tv.  I sat by the window for half the game but then prefered the warmth!

They have all kinds of goodies for us to munch on but I made use of the hot chocolate the most.

After the game we drove three hours and then stopped to have a nice dinner in Augusta before finishing the trip home.

Our deer have arrived for their winter feedings.  A family of five has been coming regularly for their grain and don't mind driving off the turkeys to get it.

Opps!  I've been caught!

I'm waiting for a call from my vet.  He is going to come today and take a look at Nick's leg and some other issues that he seems to be having.  We can't seem to keep the bandages on, they slide down and the stitches are exposed.  Hopefully he will put them on for me and they will stay or maybe he will think things have healed up enough so that he doesn't need them.   He's also having some other 'personal' type issues so I hope he doesn't have a urinary tract infection which can sometimes go along with this.

Last weekend T and D stayed with us while Son and DIL went to Houston.  They wanted me to take some pictures of their rooms here.  We had two guest rooms that we converted over to their rooms so that they didn't have to sleep on the floor in our room and they were timid about sleeping in the guest rooms.  I decided to let them make them their own and now they sleep there without a problem and love having their favorite stuffed toys with them.  This is T in her room with all of her stuffed toys.

D's room has more of a wildlife feel to it.  Notice both kids beds have a purple and yellow quilt from my purple and yellow era.  Don't you quilters find yourselves going through different times when you seem to gravitate to the same colors or is it just me?

Well the vet's office just called so I need to get ready and head to the stable.  Never a dull moment around here!

First of all, I AM SOOOOO EXCITED!! OMIGOSH, I never win anything. I can hardly wait to get it and make something out of it. This is so wonderful, cool, awsome, etc. etc.

Secondly, how in the hen do you get to sit in a box, go down to the field and get treated like a celebrity at Pats games? WOW!!

I think you have a wonderful life, being so close to your children, grands and your parents. I love the kids rooms. They are so darn cute. My daughterk Gretchen, is a giraffe lover. She collects them like I do hippos. She would love the one in D's room.

Okay, I'm going to close now and do a little "happy dance" around my craft room.

~hippo hugs~

P.S. I'll send you an email right away with my address.

~hh~

I have a confession to make MM... I am *not* a Pat's fan... even when I lived in Tundra Country, I was not a Pat's fat...There. I said it. Can you still love me? ;)

Been wondering about Mr. Nick and how things were going- hoping that "No News Is Good News" but had that feeling..... Please know we've still got him in our prayers here! (And you too of course!)

Chilly still in the Southland! Sonny says he wants to move somewhere else. Like... Brazil. I think he's nuts, but hey- that is what makes us so fun together..HA~

Congrats Hippo Chick too!!! Hope you get lots of fun stuff out of that book!!

Please tell Pam that we will all be over for dinner!!!!!

I hope you get a great report from the vet. I can imagine that the bandages would be difficult to keep in place. Do they have something like a removable cast that could go over the top of the bandages to keep them where they belong?

Looks like you had a good time at the game despite their loss. I was hoping that you would be headed out to CA next week for the game!!! ;(

You may need those warm clothes for FL if things don't turn around soon. I think CA is going to have to provide all the orange juice and strawberries this year. Oh well....it will be good for our economy. Thank you!

The kids have such cute rooms. I'm surprised that they don't want to move in with you guys.

Our weekend was busy with the eight little ones. Bed certainly felt good each night. Today is laundry and cleaning.

Looking forward to hearing the vet report. Take care, my friend. Hugs.

I think that is so great to get to go down on the field. Sorry about the way the game turned out, but I am not a big Pats fan either.
You will love that cookbook, my #1 son got me it for Christmas and I have tried several recipes out of it.
I hope that things get better for Nick.
thanks for sharing.

Wow, what an exciting time to go to that game. New England loves their Patriots! You're lucky to have had a skybox, it was freezing here in CT this weekend, I'd imagine even colder in MA. And love those deer photos, esp the ones where they are looking right at you, connecting. Very pretty!

No, no, no, no...your winner was PEA...P.E.A...Pam and Pea, it's easy for you to get confused! hehe Congratulations to Pam on being your winner, no doubt she will love the cookbook:-)

How wonderful that you and your hubby were able to attend the last Patriots game of the year. Heyyyy, how come you got to sit in a heated sky box???? lol No doubt you felt really sorry for all those poor souls sitting out in the cold, though, right??? hehe

I just love the deer that come up to feed at your house, so beautiful. Are they a nuisance to have around or do they just eat the seeds and then leave?

Hopefully Nick is healing well but you mentioned he may have a urinary tract infection...no doubt you were anxious to hear what the vet had to say.

Love T and D's rooms at your place, it's no wonder they love staying over:-)

I'm still in the process of decluttering...doing one room at a time and I swear by the time I'm done the rooms will be almost empty! lol Why do we hoard so much stuff. Sigh.

Love you to bits my friend. xoxoxo

That heated room looks like a great way to watch the game. Sitting in the stands...not so great! You wouldn't catch me doing it...but then, I'm not a football fan :)
I found your post about Nick's surgery very interesting. Thanks for sharing that. Wow, what a facility! Amazing to see a horse on an operating table. That's not something you see every day! I do hope he heals well and quickly. You've all been through a lot. He's such a handsome lad :)
You've decorated the kiddos' bedrooms so cozily. They look beautiful.
We've had snow, snow and more snow, plus very cold temps, but the snowfall have mostly been moderate to light, so we're not buried (Yet!). Hope you're surviving the January weather up there!

Wow, who do you know that gets you into those warm seats for the games?? And down on the field?? Though I don't like to watch football, I think I could enjoy that situation!

I hope Nick's okay - looking for that update post.

I finally got the twins' birthday party post up!

Don't worry about missing some of my posts; it's probably because I often post two or three times a day, and who can keep up with that? Especially someone who stays as busy as you. I sure hope your horses are all right.
