Birthdays and Whisker Tickles

It's been a busy weekend. My sister arrived about noontime on Friday just after my computer class so we headed out to lunch and to get a pedicure. Sooooooo relaxing, I could have fallen asleep. It's fun to go with someone and talk and giggle. Next we hit TJ Maxx as it is one of our favorite stores for household goods. I didn't find anything I wanted but she found some nice Red So*cks hoodies for her grandsons.

Saturday morning my friend Ann and I went to the stable as we always do. The guys are starting to shed so we got lots of hair off them. They so need a bath but it is still way too cold to even think about that. Plus with all the hair they still have it would be a disaster trying to dry them out. Of course they would go right out in the arena and roll anyway!

Saturday evening we had T's birthday party for the family here. She had a sleep over on Friday night with 7 of her little friends and they had a blast. Everyone did well, no one got homesick and had to go home in the middle of the night which was good.

Miss T is a child that always appreciates everything you do for her. It makes it fun to shop for her on birthdays and Christmas etc...

Modeling one of her new spring outfits for us.

She loves clothes and got quite a few outfits for school and church. She was so happy with her yarn and has been knitting away. Her teacher said she did a really good job demonstrating how to knit for the rest of the class. She also loved the Saddle Club Bryer horse. Do any of your boys and girls watch Saddle Club?

D likes sitting on Grampies shoulders and getting whisker tickles.

He just giggles and giggles!

Speaking of Mr. D I forgot to mention what he got me for Valentine's Day. He was out shopping with Grampie and saw boxes of chocolates and wanted to get some for me and his Mom. The one he got his Mom was a nice big heart with lots of yummy candy in it. The one he picked out for me was a smaller box but it had a Snoopy stuffed toy on it. He knows that I like Snoopy so he wanted that one. Well.........when it came Valentines Day he came over with Snoopy and no chocolates! LOL!! He ate them before he got here! LOL! I thought it was a riot and was more then happy with the Snoopy and my hips really didn't need the chocolates anyhow!! :o)

Here is a shot of the cake. I was a really bad Grammie and didn't make one myself as I had company and my kitchen is all torn up. Can't find anything! This one tasted pretty good anyhow.

They had fun riding their scooters down in the playroom. They can go from their playroom into the basement under my parents apartment, around through Hubby's office, through my sewing room and back to the playroom so it makes a nice track. You need to stand clear though or you'll be roadkill!

Today after church we went out for lunch and on the way home FIL saw 25 deer going through our neighborhood! Wow! I put out some extra grain for them as that's a lot of mouths to feed. It's nice that the snow is down enough so that they can move around and not be restricted to the deer yard. They look amazing well for having such a snowy winter. Further north they took a really bad hit from such a hard winter but the ones here did very well. We sit in the evening and watch them eat their grain and the birdseed that has fallen on the ground.

Tomorrow was the day they were supposed to start on my kitchen but the contractor told me at church this morning that it will be Thursday. That is the day we leave for Puerto Rico so I will give them a key. My sister is going to help me get all the frozen things put out in the freezer in the garage tonight and we will get some more boxes tomorrow to pack what's left in the cupboards.

Guess that's it for tonight. I hope to get one more post written before we leave on Thursday. I will be taking LOTS of pictures in Puerto Rico as we have never been there before. I am really looking forward to it.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!!

Wow...it was a busy weekend for you.

T looks so pleased with all of her gifts and the outfits are so cute.

Our little ones alwasy love the "witchy iskers" as we call them. Grandpa torments the little ones with them to many, many giggles.

I do not envy you the start of this project. It's a good thing you will be gone for at least part of the mess. YUK!

Hope you have a wonderful trip. Enjoy the sunshine with that new pedicure!!! xox

Yaya for a great party and lots of neat gifts! Happy Birthday T! She is such a doll!

I love TJ MAxx! It's so fun to go in and see what I can find, although the last few times I haven't found anything!

25 deer seems like a lot in one place, but very cool all the same!
Hope you are doing well and almost through with Winter. It's been awhile since I popped over, I need to go back and read a bit.

Looks like T had a fun party and got some really cute outfits. I don't blame you for not wanting to bake when your kitchen is torn apart. Way too stressful, and who needs that.
What good planning that you won't even have to be there for some of the mess of remodeling. Maybe it will be nearly done when you return!
Your toes will look cute for that PR sunshine !!
love you,
xoxo

This was a great post. I love that you gave her yarn. I got the knitting urge just looking at it.

I think it is quite nice that you'll be gone when they start tearing up your kitchen.

I hope T gets to wear her new spring outfits soon! What great gift she got - the yarn is so colorful.

PR sounds so fun - can't waitto see the picture.

My sis and I just got back from a great week-end in KCMO with our former pastor's wife - fun times.

Looks like your adorable T had a wonderful birthday! She looks so cute in her outfits. And D is adorable too! Or does one not call a boy adorable?

Have a great timer in PR. My daughter and family are going soon as well.

Sorry I am late, and have to run now, as we're heading to our American Legion for corned beef and cabbage.

Hugs!!!

Glad you had a nice time with your sister. The photos of your daughter are really cute I don't know a little girl that does not like clothes, I envy anyone that can knit, I have tried and failed. Have a nice St. Patrick day and thanks for coming by.

Wow you've been busy!

Her party sounded like fun! Love Chronicles of the Narnia~have read the whole entire book and have the 1st movie, love it! Yes Savannah loves Saddle Club, we have a few of the movies on VHS, but she watches some on TV as well.

Your visit with your sis sounds like a blast. I love to get to visit with mine, but they are few and far between!

What a pretty cake for Miss T! Looks like she was enjoying all her presents! She got some cute outfits! She looks like one mighty happy little girl!

Loved seeing the 'whisker tickles,' too! Kids are so much fun, aren't they? You have been so blessed!

I think I would prefer to be away if my kitchen was to be torn out....you will come back to find a lot of the messy work already done and out of the way. It will be worth it. I have been stripping wallpaper in my guest bath. I had it put up before I moved in, and now I am tired of it. So have been stripping it for the past 2 weeks. Ready to paint in there tonight! Then tear the vinyl out and start laying ceramic tile next week! I love doing stuff like this...and I am doing it all myself! Wish me luck! ha-ha

Hope you had a great time in P.R. No place like home, though, is there?
