Dogs, boys, mold and skeletons...

What do you think, do they look alike?  D has on my computer glasses so things must be a bit blurry!  We went to his basketball game which looked about like how it would be trying to herd cats!  They all were so cute and trying so hard whether it was shooting into their own basket or the other teams basket!  Don't ask me why he has his hat on.......?  Most of the pictures were blurry as they were moving around.

Cute how they put their picture on the fake magazine cover.  He loves playing and it's so good for him to be in sports.  At this level they don't even keep score, it's instructional.

I think I missed my calling.  I know I watch too many of the remodeling shows but I just love to see something ugly turn into something really nice.  And then there is the demo.  As in demolition.  Even on Extreme Home Make Over I get a lttle wound up when they go in and just knock the place over like it was a toothpick.

I had probably my one and only chance of doing demolition today at the lake house when DIL and I went down to do some planning on the rebuilding of the inside once all the mold and water has been taken care of.  The crew was there and the dumpster was full of my belongings and they were waiting for another one to arrive as this one was ready to go to the landfill.   Now that is one big dumpster!!!

The kitchen was almost all gone but there were a few cupboards and sideboards left so I asked them if I could so some demo.  They looked at me like I was a crazy woman but my DIL assured them that I was harmless.......

I took two cupboard doors off and that was enough of that.  I only had a hammer to work with, they wouldn't trust me with a sledge hammer!

The downstairs is all cleaned out except what's left of the ceiling that's on the floor.  It's a rather sad looking place and the smell of mold almost did me in.  I won't be going down again until they have done the mold removal.  Pretty sad state of affairs isn't it?  BUT we came up with some good ideas and it will be better then before so that is something to look forward to.  :o)

We got some plans made of the changes we want to do and headed for home.  I think it's going to be really cute and a bit roomier when we get done as we are going to make better use of the space, take out some walls and move some things around. The walls have to come out anyway so now is the time to make changes.  I will be sure to post some before and after pictures!

I love the staff at the doctor's office that I go to.  They are so nice and have such a good sense of humor.  Each time I go in I always look at the skeleton that is in one of the rooms as they dress it up according to the season.  Usually I don't have my camera but this time I did and got a picture of him.  Isn't that a hoot?!

I enjoyed all of your comments on the bowls that I have and what they all remind me of growing up.  It seems like there are a lot of you out there that have the same ones.  It must have been a popular wedding gift 'back in the day'.  Some of you asked about getting them or replacing some that you have broken over the years.  We have found them many places but it's usually second hand shops, antique shops or flea markets.  Occasionally I see the whole set and they are going now for about $40.00 or we pick up one size at a time as we find them.  It's fun to have something to be looking for and we have really enjoyed the chase over the years.   :o)

D looks so cute!!! Yes, basketball at that age is quite the sight, but fun too.

The cabin looks so sad. I know it will be awesome when you are done with it. You will love the tankless water heaters. Not only will it save you a ton of space, they are super efficient.

Take care of yourself around all of that mold. I know how susceptible you are to respiratory problems.

Love the skeleton at the doctor's office. What a cute idea!

Have a great weekend, my friend.

Just when I think I've seen everything, along comes a St. Paddy's Day skeleton! lol Too funny!!

I can well imagine how cute it must have been watching D and his teammates play basketball. I always love watching young kids like that playing sports, they look so adorable.

Every time I see pictures of your lake house, I just shake my head at the total disaster that occurred in there!! Glad to hear that at least you'll be able to rebuild the inside in a better way and I know you'll have fun refurnishing it:-) Hmmm...I wonder why they didn't want to trust you with a sledge hammer???? hehe

We're getting a little bit of snow today but not supposed to get much accumulation which is fine with me! Just enough to cover the dirty snow from before Christmas! lol I was gone out to run some errands and brrrrr it's cold out there with the wind blowing. It's only past 5 pm but I'm thinking of getting into my pjs and just snuggle up in bed and watch the Olympics! lol Sounds like a plan to me!!! Love you to bits. xoxoxox

Wow, that is really a mess! How do they seriously get rid of the mold? I'm glad it'll be better when it's finished. Will look forward to before/after pictures.

What fun people at your doctor's office. I am finally going next month after way too long!

Your grandson is a doll. Isn't it sad seeing a dumpster at your place? We have to get dumpsters when we go in and redo a place and as we throw out the old and bring in the new it is always kind of sad but once everything is done, you realize how great it all is. I hope that your trial will turn out to be a blessing.

Your grandson is so cute. I love watching them at that age trying to master the game.
I loved that photo of you with your hammer. My Hubby would not even trust me with that, he has seen some of my work.:D

This sounds like a big job and I can't wait to see what you two do with the place. Liked the pictures, especially the one of the kids playing basketball, they really put their hearts into it, liked the fake magazine cover, clever. Thanks for coming bu and have a nice weekend.

So sorry to see the damage done to your lovely cabin. Please stay out till the mold is removed it can create some nasty problems in the human body.

Ok lets concentrate on the good part, you get to redo the cabin and have some fun doing the planning and picking new furniture.
Keep us posted.
