Fishing Fun

Another glorious day today. Mom and I went out and checked out all of the flower beds to see what has survived all of the rain. The veg garden is the pits, I will be lucky to get anything at all out of it this year. :o( I went out to feed the boys at 4 as Funsize and I were going to ride tonight after dinner but now it is raining to beat the band so guess that is out.

Hubby and I rode for about an hour and a half yesterday. Well I rode and he drove Kipper in the cart. We are doing really well with the diet and exercise routine for them and Lil' Bud is showing some improvement. I had to take the girth up a notch on the far side as his belly has gone down some! Yey!

Saturday we went to the lake for the first time all summer except for putting in the dock. It was very windy but sunny and warm and we enjoyed every minute of it. We took D out fishing for sunfish and he had a blast! He caught quite a few and we put them back in the lake for future fishing expeditions.

This is what camp is all about!

My two favorite ankle biters!

He got chilly so put on one of Grampies camp shirts.

They didn't catch anything off the dock.

We've been having some nightly visitors that are as cute as a button. I knew it was about time for the raccoon moms to start bringing their babies and sure enough they have been coming each night. There are six in all, don't know where the other one is.

Doesn't take long for the boys to come in when I ring the dinner bell.

Happy Monday!

I am so glad you're getting some sunshine and warm air. I'm anxious to talk to Kev and see if he's getting it, too - they're on a two-week fund raising blitz in the Bangor area.

What kind of diet do you have Kipper on? Maybe we need to join him (her?)

I can remember catching sun fish in Minnesota - when they were fried they were crispy and yummy - about two bites each.

It looks as though you guys had an awesome time with fishing. So many fun memories for the kids too!!!!

Awww....those babies are so darn cute. They are trouble here and get so nasty.

Sorry that the veggie garden did not fare so well. Guess that means that you will not have to spend hours slaving over a hot stove as you can.

Things are stable here. They moved mom out of ICU last night. Since January she has spent 16 weeks in hospitals and is pretty dang tired of them. I think that I am spending more time there than I did when I worked!!! Hopefully, this will be the end of it.

I've got a wee one that I am watching so must go. Take care, my friend. xox

I am so glad you're getting more sunshine and nice warm weather. Sorry about your veggie garden. If you were closer, I'd send you over a basket of tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers. That's all I have in my little garden, since the green beans are done. I don't can, I just eat things fresh, and share with friends and Greg. I did make some refrigerator pickles, but that's it.

Love the camp pictures! It must have been so nice to finally get out there on that beautiful lake. We have sunfish as well, and usually throw them back in the river. They are so easy to catch, aren't they? Love the coonies as well. Got lots of babies here, too.

Well, got to run and do a few things, since it's a day of staying home for a change, and catching up on chores.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Huggies,

Renie xox

We had had about a month with no rain, but now we have starting getting some rain here and there. But, this past weekend we got almost 4 inches! I have gotten so far behind on your blog, I think I just read about 4-5 posts! I know what you mean about the comments being less and less. I guess people are busy and they read the posts but don't take time to comment. That's how I am a lot of times. It looks like y'all are making the most of the summer, rain and all, so that's great. I enjoyed reading all your posts, as always. Have a great day!

Is the palomino yours? I don't recall hearing about him/her.

Quite a few bloggers are either blogging less or getting fewer comments and/or readers. A lot of people think it is due to Facebook and Twitter. I read a good entry (sorry, can't remember where) about this. The author realized that she was able to recall/relive incidents by reading her blog entries, whereas stuff twitted (twittered?) about was forever lost in cyberspace.

Hmmmmm....did you send your rain over here????? It's turned cold and rainy here so I'm blaming you! lol Sure doesn't feel like July the last couple of days.

Loved seeing the photos of the kids fishing, brought back so many memories of when we'd bring ours fishing:-) Also remember myself as a child, fishing off the dock and catching sunfish. I'd run to my dad every time I caught one so he could take it off the hook and throw it back in...I'm sure he was getting tired of it since I was catching one as soon as my line was back in the water! lol

The raccoons are really cute but they can sure be little scoundrels! We have them hanging around here too but I don't feed them, E would have a fit if I did! lol

Our veggie garden is just kind of sitting there, it needs heat!! Not too sure if we'll get anything out of it either since we only have about one and a half months of our growing season left.

Your horses are so beautiful and one can tell how well taken care of they are:-) Love you tons!! xoxoxox

Glad to know you are getting some sunshine and I know what you mean about the garden. My veggie garden is doing great, but the flower gardens aren't doing too well. Too much cool weather and not enough sunshine.

Your horses are beautiful. I especially like the palamino.

The camp photos are delightful. We haven't been fishing yet this year. The boys and I like to fish, so it's time to find a dry day and see if we can get a bite or two.

Enjoy your week.
Blessings,
Mary

Great pictures. I'm glad you finally had some summer weather. We really enjoyed the weather in Massachussets this past week. We loved Boston. I thought of you and hoped your weather was as good as we were experiencing.

I'm hoping to get a post in before I leave for Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Here's hoping you keep having some good summer weather. It's been an odd one, hasn't it?

You must be having a lot of fun, since you haven't been here for awhile!

Kev told me tonight that it's only raining a bit each day now. He's really worried about winter if summer is this cold!
