Hayrides and Marshmallows

One thing that we do each fall is invite some of the youth groups from our church up for a hay ride.  We always enjoy this and look forward to it each year.  The first group Truth & Training was supposed to come but their night got rained out so we have rescheduled.  This particular night we had the Sparks group and they had a great time.

The Hubs was at a business meeting at the church so a friend of ours filled in for him driving the tractor.

It was a rather cold night but they were bundled up and got along fine.

They always enjoy seeing the boys and the boys enjoy seeing them and getting the attention.

Afterwards they all came back to the house for snacks and drinks then they sat around the firepit and sang songs.  We were going to toast marshmallow but at their ages we thought it might be a little dangerous!  :o)  Do any of you remember the scene in the movie Dennis the Menace where he is trying to get the marshmallow off his stick and it flies through the air and hits Mr. Wilson right in the forehead?  That's the scenario that kept going through my mind so I thought we would forego the marshmallows!

I'm working with a new version of Blogger.  My buddy Needled Mom sent me the instructions on how to get it set up so I am giving it a whirl.  Also my friend Kerri over at Colors Of The Garden has been helping me out.  We have been trying to get a phone call lined up to go over some more things but so far have been missing each other but we will connect!  Thanks to both of you gals for helping me keep my sanity!!!! One of the things that I have learned about the Bloggasphere is that if you need something people are more then happy to jump in and help in any way they can, rather it be praying for you or helping you out with some problem.  I have met some truly wonderful folks in the few years that I have been blogging.  I'm going to meet up with one of them very soon.............cont.........

Where is spellcheck?

The new page is wonderful. I remember last year when you had some kids from church for the hayride. Looks like lots of fun. I remember church hayrides when I was a kid. I always had such fun.

Have a great week.

It looks like everyone had a great time. It's such a nice time of the year to have guests over. Was this done before the boys went back for the winter?

The blog looks great. I can't wait to try the new method. They say that you can upload multiple photos at once so I will have to play around with it, but...no spellcheck????? Whatever will I do?????

I, too, have found out how helpful fellow bloggers are. It really is amazing and someone always knows the answer. I love it.

Your blog looks great now with the new header and all. She does such a nice job on it.

Enjoy your week. xoxox

I'd like to know more about that new version of Blogger. I guess I should go to Blogger and look! I hope you have good luck with it.
Thanks for the link, and yes, we will connect one of these days!
Hay rides are such a fun activity with a group, especially a mixture of kids and adults. I think you made the right decision regarding the marshmallows :)
Glad everyone had such a good time.
The Royal Lippizanner stallions are beautiful and so wonderfully trained. Thanks for sharing the experience.
Your new header and background look lovely. Jo-Lynne does a great job.

Oh, looks like such a good time for the kids, and adults too.

New addition of Blogger? Dare I look into that. I'm still new at it, and don't want to kill anything. :) But, I'm keeping my eyes and ears open for future experimenting.

You've got me giggling here because I sure do remember that scene in Dennis the Menace! lol Loved seeing the pictures of the hayride and the kids having fun with the horses. No doubt the kids look forward to this event every year:-)

I love the look of your blog decor and I'm so glad you're getting help with the new version of Blogger. I never did change to the "customized" version, I'm still with the old version and that's just fine with me because I know exactly what I'm doing! lol If I change, I just know I'll be completely confused and it's very dangerous to confuse a blonde even more!!!!

I wish it was ME you were meeting up with soon!! One day our time will come:-) Love you my friend. xoxoxox
