Back from Texas, y'all

( I have tried many times to get this to come out right but it doesn't so this is the best I can do. Darned ole' Blogger!)

We arrived home from Texas last night after a full schedule of doing the touristy thang! I have to speak with a twang now you know. Actually being in northern Texas we didn't hear too much of the real southern drawl but enough to make it fun. We had great non eventful flights down which are the best kind and was glad to see our driver waiting for us when we got off the plane. It was just a short 15 minute drive to the hotel and that was mostly due to traffic as it was about 4 o'clock. We went to a great steak house the first night called Cool River and if you are ever in Dallas be sure to go there for the ribs........to. die. for!

The next day we went to Fort Worth which is about 45 minutes away. Actually we went there every day while we were in Texas, there is a lot to do and see and we wanted to see it all. First we went to the Cowboy Hall of Fame and it was soooooooo interesting. I would love to have a bench like this here at home!! Isn't it gorgeous?

This is one of the many pictures we saw. This is Dr. Billy Graham, one of my all time favorite preachers receiving a pair of boots.

They had many interesting wagons and buggies, this one is a hearse.

Twice a day they herd a herd of longhorns down the street for the tourists to take pictures. It was fun seeing these huge steers walking calmly by. They know the routine by now.

This is Big Jake. He was just wandering around with one of the cowboys. I did get on him for a few minutes to get a picture. It's on Hubby's camera and I haven't downloaded it yet.

Isn't this guy interesting? He was for sale but I didn't think he would fit in my carry on!

Hubs was glad to run into John Wayne, one of his favorite movie stars. I didn't tell him it wasn't the real John Wayne.

This picture should have been first but you all know my tales of woe with picture placement.

There was just so much to see in the Hall of Fame, we spent quite a bit of time there wandering around reading all the information. There was a great George Strait exhibit that I will try to put in next time. We went into several shops to look around and of course I had to buy T-shirts for the grand kids.
That night we went to a restaurant called Texas, Love and War. The food was delicious and they actually cooked my steak enough so that it wasn't mooing! I'll tell you we had us some goooood food in Texas!
Guess I'll stop here and try more tomorrow. Will be getting around to see all of you to see what you have been up to while I was gone!

Glad you are safely home from your trip. It sounds like it was a fabulous time with great food as well. I think Mr. C has grown taller as I look at him next to John Wayne!!!!

I have gotten so much help from fellow bloggers on photos. I am trying something completely different and will see how it goes. I had no idea there were so many ways to put photos into blogs.

Enjoy catching up on everything, my friend. Hugs.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhh you're home again, I missed you so much!!! Glad to hear you had such a fun time and imagine hubby even getting to meet John Wayne! hehe Shhhh I won't tell him either that it wasn't the real one:-)

Doesn't that just make the trip so much better when you can find great restaurants like that? When Steve & I go to Niagara Falls it seems all we do is eat! lol

That bench is indeed gorgeous and what a shame you couldn't bring it home...along with the cowboy! lol The wagons and buggies are just lovely as well, such style they have.

Oh wow, you actually got on Big Jake? I think I would have been too chicken...I mean, look at the size of him! lol

I'm just so glad you're home safe again:-) Thank you for your comment about my situation with my DIL, it meant a lot to me. Love you lots!! xoxoxo

Welcome home! I'll have to tell you the story about Big Red and me sometime - when I was dating a cattleman - Big Red was a huge Charolais bull. Nuff said for now.

Glad you're home safe and sound.
