Random Friday

Well the weekend is almost here again. Friday night is a good night to have pizza so Hubby is stopping at our favorite pizza place for this evenings dinner. The best thing is that it tastes soooooo good and the other best thing is that I don't have to clean up other then to throw the empty boxes in the trash. How good is that? I know you are all nodding and agreeing with me right at this moment! :o)

Our second clutch of babies in the barn are learning how to fly so I figured I'd better get some pictures quickly before they all leave the nest. I'm wondering if Mom will have a third clutch as it's still pretty early. They were in a rather awkward place to get a shot but here is what I got. I don't know what kind they are, they aren't really as big as these pictures make them look, probably some kind of sparrow.

We had a full moon a couple nights ago. It was so pretty out back with the shadows of the barn and trees showing in the glow of the moon. The second picture is one I took with a different shutter speed and it came out rather eerie looking, I think I must have moved a bit.

We've been having a little visitor lately. I hope she has a home and is just stopping by for playtime with Munchie and Noodles. She doesn't come every day but when she does she eats up a storm. She looks enough like Munchie to be a sister! I can't get up to her yet but she doesn't run when I come out the back door, just keeps her distance.

Sarah over at Genesis Moments gave me a lovely award this week! Thank you so much Sarah, it's so much fun to get awards!!! Now I am supposed to pass it on to 5 more people and I just tried to do that and I can't pick just 5! I made a list and then I kept thinking of some others that I thought should have it and then I thought of some more and it was driving me crazy trying to decide and not wanting to leave anyone out! From the length of that sentence you can see that I am stressing over this! Soooooooo I want to pass it on to all of my regular readers. I know that's against the rules and I hope the Award Police don't come knocking on my door but each and every one of my regular readers have sites that fit the criteria and I enjoy them ALL so much! So if you want to be a better person then me and follow the rules here they are:

You have to pick 5 blogs that you think deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.
Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given
her or him the award itself.
The award-winner and the one who has given the prize must show the link of the “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
http://arteypico.blogspot.com/
Janera over at My Garden Hat is having a nice give away! She sells Gold Canyon candles and the one she is giving is the Sweet Pea fragrance, how yummy is that??? Hop on over and throw your hat in the ring and tell her I sent you then I will get lots of extra points and will probably win! heehee! You see there's a reason I am being so nice and telling you about this yummy give away......ahem....confession is good for the soul and bad for the reputation! ( I can't get this to link so just try her addy which is: mygardenhat.blogspot.com )

On the way back in from the barn taking the pictures of the baby birds Buddy came sauntering over looking for a carrot so I snapped about 10 pictures of him. I'll only put in two so that your eyes don't glaze over! I think by the looks he has gained some weight over the summer!

People know that I like animals so they send me the cutest pictures. Here are a few of my favorites! Enjoy!
I am just SO tired!

Sharing dinner?

What do YOU want?
I think they are singing the Hallelujah Chorus!

I think I had this haircut in the 70's!

Guess that's it for this Random Friday. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!! :o)

We always go out for a cheap bite on Friday nights - it's against all my grains to cook on Friday. But tonight DC is helping Kev and Sema move, so I'm on my own - except I have a passle of kiddoes with me for various reasons.

Cute birdiesl. Cute animal pix!

Simple cleanup for dinner sounds like my cup of tea!!!

What cute little birds! I suppose they fly the coop really fast. I can't imagine them having more than one brood a year. Glad it isn't that way for humans.

What???? No O.R. in January? There is NO way that Bill will let that happen. I guess that we would just have to come to Maine to torment you. :)

Have a great weekend.

I was making a few photo corrections in Photoshop when you left your comment, as some were a little too dark.

Enjoyed all of your new pics, especially the one of the ostrich's face! LOL The baby birds are a joy to watch as they grow, aren't they?

Yes, that second pic of the moon looks like something from space coming in for a landing! LOL Great shot of the moon in the first photo, though!

That little stray kitty you have...how sweet!!! I could love her myself!!! I do hope she makes up with you so you can get her inside before winter. I used a Hav-a-Heart trap to trap most of the ones I have. I did nab some by the scruff of the neck and dropped them into a carrier standing up on end, but that is scary to do it that way!!! I only did the ones that way that would allow me to pet their heads and rub their necks, thus giving me the opportunity to grab them by the scruff! It is easier to trap them, and it doesn't hurt them one bit. They go crazy in the trap when they trigger that door to slam down, but then I throw a big towel over the entire trap, and they settle right down then. But this one you have there is such a pretty little gal! I hope she's spayed, or you may end up with more than just one new cat!

If you would like one of those pie plates, I would be happy to UPS one to you. That's the only color they had. I love it and can't wait to bake a pie in it now!!!

Thank you for the award! I will have to do the same thing you did cause it's just too hard to pick five!

Have a great week!

About Lyle...I forgot to answer your question. He is so busy working now that he's back home in AZ. Ann said he may not be able to do his blog regularly. I'll let you know when, and if, he posts again.

I'm not sure but your first photos of the second hatch may be barn swallows. They love to nest in the rafters of sheds and barns.

Glad you had pizza for dinner. That does indeed make for easy cleanup. We were so tired from renovations and garden work on Thursday that we picked up pizza for dinner.

Take care. I enjoyed my visit. Buddy does look like he's gained a little weight. Your animal pics are cute.

Blessings for a great weekend.

Awww Sweet Buddy, what a great guy!

We have a family of birds building a nest now on top of a nest that I had not cleaned out yet....I guess they are going for the townhouse version for their nest! LOL!

We, too, had pizza one night this week and it wasn't even Friday! We dine out way too often but it's so easy and nice to not heat the house up with turning on the oven!

Have a great weekend!

Oh, pizza is always a good Friday choice!

Cute baby birds in the barn. I can't tell what they are, but maybe they're barn swallows? The parent birds could give a better clue. And I see Mary mentioned that as well.

Love the full moon pictures. The second one does look erie. I was going to post one as well, but posted the twilight picture instead. And the little visitor is so cute! I'm glad you feed her. I always do, and end up with new fur kid. Usually, the ones that show up at my house, are abandoned ones, unfortunately.

Congratulations on the beautiful award. Like you, I always have a hard time picking just five people. There are so many wonderful blogs, and they all deserve awards!

Love the picture of Buddy, as well. And the cute animal graphics, I'm starting to feel like that yawning bunny, so it will be early to bed tonight.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning!

I just called the store about the pie dish, and they had just ONE left! So it is reserved under my name. I'll go get it this afternoon. Email me your email address (mine is on my profile page) so we can correspond with addresses that way. But they DO have one!!!! I am excited for you cause I just LOVE mine!!! Haven't had time to bake anything in it yet, though! LOL

I'll be in touch with you via email later on today. I can't go out til this afternoon as I have the cats to finish up yet and then shower and get ready to go.

One ceramic pie dish coming up, my dear!!!!! LOL

OMG! The random animal pictures are so cute! We had pizza the other night and it was good. Every now and then one has to have their favorite pizza! Love the little birdies. I counted seven barn swallow babies packed in the nest the other night. They were so cute!

Love those animal pics! I agree pizza is fun. no mess, no clean up - except cheesy saucy fingers. :)

No muss, no fuss...that's what pizza means to me. LOL It's what we do on Thursdays. Steve has a class after work and gets home late. I hate late night "clean-ups". I even use paper plates sometimes.

The pics are really good. The eerie one is...mwaahhhaaahaaa...spooky!

Hugs,
Diane
