Take Me Out To The Ballgame!

While SIL and I were happily shopping the men were on their way to Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox play Oakland. Hubby, BIL and the two nephews had great seats waiting for them thanks to one of the companies that we do business with. B, the one with the Sox shirt on, has been a life long fan and knows more about the game then I will ever know in my whole life! That's his triplet brother pushing him, his Dad in the blue striped shirt and hubby was taking the pictures.

They were treated to a tour of Fenway and even got to come down on to the field to meet some of the players.

This is B getting his shirt signed by one of the players!

The clouds rolled in and the rain started pouring down so there was a rain delay for about a half hour.

Here they are in the stands watching the game once it started up again.

Someone was nice enough to take a shot of all four of them for us.

They had a great time and and we hope to do it again soon. Of course that would mean that SIL and I would have to do some more shopping.........ahem.......it's rough but somebody has to do it!

My niece, L who is the third triplet in this crowd was headed off to summer camp for a couple of weeks. We took her to meet her friend that she was riding with along with all her luggage! The weather has been horrible for camp so I hope she is having a good time and that next week the weather will be better. I think they were going to go white water rafting today and of course she will have horsemanship every day. My niece is on the left, you all have seen pictures of her riding Nick in some of my past posts.
It doesn't seem possible that these young people will be 16 this month! I remember the day that they were born, three months early, and we jumped in the car and headed for Boston to see SIL, their mom. We couldn't see them as they were in the NICU but just knowing that they were okay despite their early arrival was such a relief. BIL and SIL sure had their hands full for a few years and now that the triplets are teens I think things are just as busy! When they were born L. my niece weighed 2 lbs. 5 oz. B weighed 2 lbs. 5 oz and N weighed 2 lbs. 6 oz. They would fit in the palm of your hand! Now they are teens in high school, busy with school activities, church and friends. What a joy and a blessing they have been to all of us!!!! :o)

T had a riding lesson this morning so of course I had to snap a few pictures. It was raining but that didn't bother the kids or the horses a bit. There were four in this lesson and the instructor kept telling them to spread out and then they would clump up again. I bet she told them 15 times to keep a good distance between them.

Guess that's it for tonight. More rain on tap for tomorrow so we're really getting rather soggy around here. The lawns are sure green though, not brown and dried up like they were. I feel badly for our southern relatives who are here at the lake house for vacation. I don't think the sun has peeked out all week! Hopefully next week will be better. :o)

What a charming visit with your family. My favorite thing about the Oakland A's is that the Reds beat them to win the series in 1990in a 4 game sweep. I like baseball so I would be torn between the game and shopping. Your story about the precious little infants reminds me of the time I comforted the mother of a premature infant by pointing out that my soccer playing fullback daughter who just slide tackled some kid right in front of us also started life on the small side. She felt better. LOL.

Baseball is always a great summer passtime! I have been to only one game this summer. Too busy riding, I guess! ;)
T's lesson looked great. She has the cutest smile.
Enjoy the rain, it's nice to have everything green and I'm sure the sun will be out baking soon enough!

What a great visit you had!

T is such a doll and really appears to love riding!

Hope the rain slows down a bit. We could really use some.

You can feel free to send some of that rain out here to our dry land! The farmers are really hurting this year - it's been about 5 years since the last drought ended, but we seem to be heading that way again.

The triplets - I can't even imagine more than our two little ones. It's so much work, but such blessings! They're 7 months old yesterday, and are at their check-ups right now - can't wait to see how much they weigh. They went to P.T. yesterday for eval and are doing great - on target for their age, not even adjusted. We're so grateful.

What a great time you must have had. And what a cool family. The only sad part for SIL/BIL is that their "empty nest" will happen all at once. Can you imagine going from 3 teens to 0 in one school year? You'll have to visit more often and go shopping together. LOL.

Loved the post.

Wow, neat pictures from Fenway Park. Sounds like they had a great time inspite of the rain shower.

Your niece is a lovely young lady. Having triplets must have kept your SIL busy! LOL. Thank the Lord they are all doing so great these days.

I love the picture of your little granddaughter on the horse. She has the sweetest smile. My 11 year old granddaughter loves to ride, and has won several ribbons in a recent horse show, including a blue one! Can you tell I'm proud of her? LOL. But just last week, she had her first mishap as well, and fell of the horse! She was fine, and is back riding again, but my daughter worried abut it, of course.

Hope the rain stopped and you'll be enjoying a nice, sunny weekend. Our weather, which has been atrociously hot, has turned very pleasant after a good rain. Today was 80 F, and my younger son took me for a long ride on the river. Heavenly!

Have a lovely weekend!

Well OF COURSE the girls have to go shopping while the guy go to a baseball game!!! hehe Glad to see they had such a good time, rain and all. Must have been cool to meet some of the players and get autographs. I would have just sat there, swooning over them all! lol

Gosh, triplets...it's hard enough taking care of one baby, can't even imagine taking care of 3 at the same time. They were so tiny when they were born, they're very lucky to have survived. Look at them now, grown teenagers:-)

Oh dear, it does sound like you've had a very soggy week. The weather has been strange here...we get rain every day but just for a few minutes at a time. More like cloudbursts while the sun is shining! You never know if you'll see rain or sun when you look out the window...or both!

T looks so adorable riding her horse and I do think she's a natural at it:-) Have a great weekend my friend. Love you! xoxoxox

You get the best pictures!!! The ballgame looked like fun for the guys!!! And to get down on the field must have been the icing on the cake for the boys!!! I, myself, would take shopping over a ballgame any ole day!!! LOL

The pic showing the storm clouds was awesome!!! Great shot!!!

Oh, my gosh, those triplets sure were tiny!!! I can remember when I had kittens that weighed 2 pounds when weighed at the vet's! They were soooo little!!! I can't imagine a baby being that tiny and surviving!!! It is miraculous what they can do these days....years ago, babies that small didn't have a chance.

Little T in her riding outfit looks adorable! I'm sure your grands will have fond memories of their "grandma" when they get my age, too! My kids remember their grandparents the same way I do mine. I wish I'd had some grands as I think I would have been a grandma just like my Grandma Jenny. That little ole gal had a lot of spunk! She made life just so much fun! She struggled to raise her kids on her own back in those days, and Wardie, God bless him, was her Rock of Gibraltar! He was sooooo good to her and loved her to pieces...he was always trying to get a kiss from her! They really were a cute couple!

I haven't forgotten about the pie dish! I am hoping that this week I can get it shipped out. Things are slowing down some now, but I now have the advertising inquiries to take care of on top of everything else! Like you say, someone has to do it....ahem!

(((((( HUGS ))))))

SOunds like you have been having lots of fun. We havn't had rain, but lots of threatening weather, just hot and sticky. I love to watch the baseball games, however I am a true D-backs fan. I enjoyed the story of the Triplets. Glad they are sounding so successful.

Great pics.
I can't even imagine triplets, let alone ones so tiny.
We had so much rain earlier this year but now we hardly get a drop.
The grasshoppers have really moved in and are eating everything.
It has been a strange year.
Great post.
