It was another gorgeous fall day here in Maine. The wind was blowing a bit so I could see the leaves drifting to the ground. The horses love this kind of weather, not hot, no flies and a nice breeze. They will be going back to the stable in a week or so (Waaaaa!) as we are getting ready to go to Florida on our family vacation. The grand kids are looking forward to it and so am I as long as Mom is doing okay.
I love this one of T with her favorite pony Kipper. I bought the pink lead rope to match her shirt.
D was sitting on the pasture fence. At first he was afraid he would fall off but then got the hang of it. I love a weathered fence.
Nick was quite interested in all the excitement and attention.
Next Sunday night we have the older group of Truth and Training kids coming. As they are older we will be making smores in the fire pit along with the hay ride and meeting the ponies. Buddy used to love it when the kids came to visit. He was always thinking maybe someone had a treat for him! :o)
Things have been a bit rough the last few days. She has developed two blood clots in the leg that was operated on. This will put her a week behind on her physical therapy which is discouraging as she was hoping to be home in two weeks. It will be at least three now unfortunately. We are still on our schedule where someone is with her most of the time during the day. Dad goes early morning, I go after that, my sister goes on her one o'clock lunch hour, my SIL in the afternoon, Dad back at dinner time and Hubby or I after dinner. She has a delightful roommate and everyone there has been very nice. The only complaint I have and I know this is a universal complaint is the time it takes the staff to get to the rooms when the patient rings for them. Today I talked with the charge nurse and was told that they respond within two to three minutes. NOT! I am there, I know how long it takes and sometimes it's 15 to 20 minutes. When you have to use the rest room that can be a long 15 to 20 minutes. We aren't allowed to help her as we don't know how to correctly do it and could cause further injury. I don't mean to be critical but I just want my Mom to have good care.
I got back three of the pictures that were taken here last week by Sparkling Moments Photography. I made some kind of mistake on the big order and it didn't go through so I am going to have to order them again. I probably just didn't push the Order button. Sigh...... Anyhow I thought these of the grands came out good. This first one is just the part of the picture that would fit in my scanner.

Sunday night we hosted a hayride for our Awana Sparkies from our church. This is the 5-7 year olds and they love coming to the farm each year.
We had about 40 all together counting the leaders. We had a fire going in the fire pit and had cookies and apple juice for a snack. The little girl in the light pink jacket kept her nose plugged the whole time! lol! She said that horses STINK!Next Sunday night we have the older group of Truth and Training kids coming. What's your costume going to be this year for Halloween? I like to dress up for when the trick or treaters come by. Haven't decided yet what I'm going to be but here are some suggestions.

Sorry to hear about your Mom's bloodclots. I hope she recovers soon.
The hayride looks like so much fun. I always enjoyed going on them with my kids.
I know what you mean about wanting attention when it's needed. I'm so glad you guys can work out a schedule so that you can be with your mom. I'm sure she really appreciates it. I know I would.
Your mention of Buddy made me think of my dog, Frazier. He has been gone two years now and I still miss him so much. He was such a good boy.
How sweet that you had a pink lead rope in the picture to match the shirt. You are just a fashionista, aren't you?
Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. We, too, are experiencing the wonderful brisk weather of fall. We walked on the Erie Canal path yesterday. It was gorgeous.
~hippo hugs~

So sorry to hear about your mom's bloodclots. Thank heavens they found it soon enough. I'm sorry that it will delay her recovery as I know how eager you are to get her home. It is frustrating when you cannot do anything to help her when she needs it. Glad you are able to be with her so much.
The pictures of the kids are great. I love D sitting on the fence - so boyish!
I'll bet the kids all loved the hayride. Too funny about the plugged nose.
Check out my news today in my blog. Hint....it's blue news!
Hugs.
oooo, what fun this looks like. I adore hay rides ...haven't been on one in awhile, tho.
Sure hope your mom is doing better every day. Bless her heart...tell her for me that I KNOW 'gettin' old sure ain't for sissies! !!
Your graphics are just so cute...I love all of them!
love, bj
The if the broom fit thing has me cracking up.
Sorry to hear about your mom and the blood clots and how long it takes for them to respond to her, that is just crazy.
The pictures turned out really nice
and how much fun would a spark hayride be.. My Princess moved out of Awana's this year and into the teen youth group, Mr Man moved out of sparks and up into the T&T and Sweet Pea is still a spark, and Little Man is doing his 1st year of cubbies and he is loving it.. ask every day if he can go to cubbies today..
Oh I hope all goes well with your mom! Keep us posted!
I love the pony picture how sweet! Those are some cute little kiddos!! I have always wanted to go on a hay ride!! If the broom Fits! LOL!!
I'm finally getting a chance to visit. I'm sorry to hear about the blood clots. Your Mom is still in my prayers.
Love love love those pictures of the grands. They just have the sweetest little faces!
Glad you're enjoying some great weather. Ours is just lovely here too, and I'm glad life is beginning to return to normal as C is doing sooo much better.]
Thanks for your prayers.
love you!
xoxo
So sorry to hear about your mom.
Will keep her in my prayers to heal and go home soon.
I used to enjoy going on hayrides also.
Wish I lived closer to come for smores.LOL
Move over, I want to ride on that broom with you! hehe Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that your mom has now developed blood clots in her leg...I can well imagine how frustrated she is at having to stay there an extra week at least. Believe me, it's a problem the world over in hospitals with the patients not getting the proper attention they need. Over here, if you don't have a family member or a friend come by to help every day, then you're outta luck.
The pictures of T and D are just precious! Love the idea of posing her with her beloved pony and him sitting on the fence...just gorgeous!! They're good looking like their grandma:-)
Looks like all the kids (and grownups) had fun at the hayride...makes me wish I could be there too, I so love hayrides! When Steve & I go away in a couple of weeks, one of the things we'll be doing is going to a pumpkin farm so there should be hayrides as well:-) I had to giggle at that little girl covering her nose! lol
Not sure if I'll dress up for Halloween...will have to think about it! lol Love you my dear friend. xoxoxox
Oh, A vacation to Florida! Wish I could go! Nice pics of the littlins! The hayride looks fun!
Love the pictures of the kids...they are great!
Sorry to hear about your mom....bummer!
Oh, I am sorry your Mom had a setback but thank the Lord they found the bloodclots! But it must be hard on her, as I know she is looking forward to going home.
Your grandkids are adorable. T with her pony and the pink lead rope is too cute!
What fun those children from your church had visiting the farm and even enjoying a hay ride. And, well, horses do stink a little. lol.
We don't get any trick or treaters around here. Houses are just too far apart. Kids go to town for that, or have Halloween parties. But I might get on my broom and spook the wildlife a bit. lol.
Fall is a nice time, and even the deer enjoy it more, because those nasty deer flies are no longer around.
I so enjoyed my visit with you, as always. Have a wonderful rest of the week!
Hugs, and prayers for your dear Mom's speedy recovery!
Renie
oh my! those grandkids are growing so fast! I love the photos, all were very good.
Hugs to you MM. You know I am thinking about you. FL is an awesome place to visit! Have a great family vacation when you get there :)
I too hope all goes well with your mom!
Looks like a great hay ride!
Love the pics! Too cute!
Sorry your mom is having such a rough time - and the lag time when you ask for a nurse in the hospital is the same story. Really bad.
I love fall and hayrides, etc., but am not a big fan of Halloween.
We have Light in the Night at our church and the neighborhood kids come out in droves - the grands love it. So we have a chili dinner, and we don't give out much andy because we're not home.
Do the kids have any trouble getting off school for the trip to Florida every year? Or do they have a fall break? Just curious.
Have you been able to get into Kristen's site yet? She's got quite an amazing new post.
You always have the cutest templates over here!
I just LOVE fall! I only wish it was a little less wet and a little more crisp around my these parts....
So sorry to hear about your mom....it's a lot of work I think, taking care of ageing parents. I hope she is on the mend soon!
T and Kipper were SO adorable in that photo!!
Say, I like horse "stink", myself! Hee!
Halloween?? I need a costume to wear at school with the kiddos. My usual standbys: black cat, cowgirl (now that's a stretch!) or farmer. Maybe I will post about it soon and ask for reader's advice!
looks like so much fun there! Great pics!
we went to our churc harvest party tonight, sop much fun we too went on a hayride and even seen alot of fireworks!
Your mom is having quite a time, isn't she? I stayed all day with my mom for 13 straight weeks....I even carried my laptop in so I could work from her room. SOme nights I would run home long enough to shower and change and head back to spend the night with her. She got excellent care here....they always came right away, within 1 or 2 minutes MAX. But she always felt better with me there with her. But 13 weeks about wore me out! And then I had a bout of bursitis in one of my knees and it was a verrry looooog walk from the parking garage over the walkway to the hospital entrance. But I just couldn't let her down. So nice you have other family members taking turns with you. I had no one but me.
Your mention of Buddy touched my heart. He was there in spirit, I'm sure. What a great thing your hosting the hayride and visit and all for the kids! Looks like a lot of fun was had by all!!!
Loved the photos of the kids!!! How cute can cute get!!! Loved T's pink shirt and lead! Absolutely darling of them both!!! I can tell you are a happy and proud grandma! And rightly so!!!
(((((( HUGS ))))))
Relaxing by the pool? Ummmm! Sounds like you are enjoying the warm sunshine. xox
