Another day on the ole' farm. Funsize has been here and mucked out the stalls, Kipper has been on his walk with Dad and me, Buddy ate his new supplement without spitting it out. All is good.
Saturday T came over to spend the day with us and help around the barn, one of her most favorite things to do. She loves riding on the tractor with Grampie.
She rode Kip. She forgot her riding helmet so had to wear her sledding helmet. It works fine, just a bit warm for summer.
There's always the feet to clean out.
A little stall mucking is always in order.
We went out again later and she rode with me on Buddy and we ponied Kip. I had on the latest in riding attire.......ahem.......hunter orange over two sweatshirts..........hey, it was cold, alright?!
Yesterday was wild around here. We had rain, hail, thunder storms and sun.
Had a pure delightful surprise when I went out to fill the bird feeders this morning. I got halfway out there and noticed a gorgeous Rosebreasted Grossbeak on one of the feeders! I hurriedly went back into the sun room and turned on the camera to try to get a shot of him. Isn't he beautiful?!!!!
Our woodpecker saga continues. He has taken to trying to court our big wooden bald eagle that is perched on the fence out back. This poor guy is getting desperate!
Any suggestions??

LOL, the woodpecker just cracks me up! Waht a little cutie, T. Looks like a fun ride!
Looks like you all had lots of fun! Man it has been in the 80's here and looks to be going up!
The woodpecker, poor little guy! He really wants to find a mate!
What a weird woodpecker you have there!!!
I love the photo of you and your granddaughter on the horse leading the pony!
And what a gorgeous little bird at your feeder!
The girls and I were just learning about birds last week- learning some of the various names...I love birds but know so little about all the classifications! Now I know a new one here...rosebreasted grossbeak! :) So pretty!
such cute pictures.. Thanks for sharing. I hope you have a wonderful week.
Enjoyed your photos again today.
We have the same woodpecker problem so when you find out what to do please pass it on.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day.
Can't help with Woodpeckers...Love the horse and Granddaughter shots:)
Hello dear Louise,
I'm back from my trip:-) I'm telling ya, we did so much in those few days, now I think I need a vacation to rest up! lol It's good to be home again but I miss Steve:-(
It was so much fun catching up on your news...glad to hear you have your horses home again! Loved all your pictures...T does such a great job at helping you out in the barn:-) I'm glad that she's learning that horses also need care and are not just for riding!! She obviously takes her love of horses from her grandma:-)
It's been quite chilly here too and they're saying chances of snow flurries tomorrow morning. Sigh. Today it's only gone up to 48F which really sucks for this time of year. Supposed to stay cool like that the rest of the week. Double sigh!!!!
What gorgeous shots you got of the Rosebreasted Grosbeak! We haven't seen those around here yet but they should be arriving soon. I see your woodpecker is still around...sounds like he's trying to impress your wooden eagle! hehe
Love you lots!!! xoxoxo
Just found your blog! Really enjoyed it! Your little granddaughter is a real cutie!!!
Poor woodpecker! Have you tried to find anything about them online? I don't know what you can do to get him a mate, but if I hear of anything, I'll let you know. He must be one lonely little fella!
I shall return.....I thoroughly enjoyed your post!
omg! T is just too cute in her riding attire. She is a doll :)
Buddy looks good, Kipper looks good too.
A trail rider can never go wrong in hunters orange...........cold or not!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am new to blogging just this year and I must say, I LOVE IT!!! I have no grandchildren so I will enjoy your photos so much!
I posted pics of a few of my cats on my second post, I believe. I have 33 altogether! I have trapped most of them, had them spayed/neutered, deflea-ed, dewormed, tested for disease, shots, etc. All are inside cats now! I have tamed most of them, but I am still working on 3 yet. They were pitiful, trying to survive outdoors, and they kept bringing more kittens. I just had to do something! Ferals are put down as soon as they arrive at the shelter, but I have saved a lot of them. They are really not bad cats...some pretty, some not so pretty, but I love them all and they seem to love me, too! LOL
I have a large laundry room where I house 12 of the ferals, and they seem very content with their living quarters. I have another 8 who reside in my office (I work from home) and then 13 that actually share my home with me! I have to clean house every other day, but they are worth it!
I live in Upstate SC. The strawberry farm is about 20 miles from where I live, but my ex always gets mine for me. They taste even better than they look! and, yes, they were just freshly picked on Mother's Day, the day I received them and took the photo.
Again, I'm glad you stopped by! I'll be checking your site often now!
Loved the pictures of T! What a smart little girl! I am envious of your camera and your birds! Your pictures are so great! As always, I enjoyed your post!
What a loser your woodpecker is! Bless his heart. Isn't it grand how little girls love riding on tractors with their grandpas?
Looks like Funsize enjoys helping out and riding along.
It has been in the 90's here, but cooling off today.
Glad you have a good day.
happy horsin' around!
Sorry I did not reply very quickly. At work and hardly anyone is around today, before holiday.
You have nice looking horses, and obvious some quality help with them.
Yes it has been a really weird spring, and two sweaters are needed.
Enjoy visiting, and I will be back even if I don't always comment.
